Before I log off for this year, I have very exciting news to share! 🤩

2026 brings me back to what I love most - teaching practical digital marketing skills and reshaping people's stories.

I am so thrilled to announce that I've teamed up with Women's Centre to deliver a Foundational Digital Marketing Skills course for women, designed by me and funded by Sutton College.

This course requires no prior knowledge and focuses on building confidence, practical skills and critical thinking. Most importantly, it’s designed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women who may feel lost, overlooked, or unsure where to start — women with untapped potential just waiting to be seen and supported.

Wednesdays are officially about to become my favourite day of the week! 💜

‼️ Your social media page is not your business.

A client of mine, and a baker I have been a fond customer of, woke up to a nightmare recently — her entire Facebook business page had been removed. No warning. No clear explanation. Just gone. Years of effort building an engaged following vanished in seconds. 🙅‍♀️

And unfortunately, this isn’t rare. She isn't the first, and she won't be the last.

Small businesses often rely heavily on platforms like Facebook or Instagram to build their audience and reach customers. Because it's free, it's convenient and it's familiar. But here’s the truth: you don’t own those platforms. You’re renting space on someone else’s land — and they can evict you without notice.

What can you own?
✅ Your website
✅ Your email list
✅ Direct communication with your audience

💡 How a nurtured email list could have made a difference?

👉 Immediately let her audience know what happened
👉 Share a direct link to her new page that subscribers WILL see
👉 Continue communicating directly with her customers

Instead, she’s starting from zero — again.

Let this be your reminder: build your email list! Even if your business is small. Even if you think it’s not urgent. It’s one of the few channels you fully control.

Or at the very least, start a WhatsApp Community for your business.

Social media is great for reaching new people. But email and direct communication? That’s where relationships live, conversions happen and brand loyalty thrives.

It's been a year since my first students on OpenClassrooms completed their programme. And in that one year, I've had the most amazing journey with the company and many other people searching for new skills, knowledge and opportunities.

I started as a mentor on a digital marketing bootcamp, sponsored by the Department of Education, UK, in January 2023. In October, I also began mentoring on the DfE Agile Project Management Bootcamp.

In the past one year I had 18 incredible students - all with different backgrounds, skills, interests and goals for the future. All of them completed their programmes and never failed an assessment! Some landed jobs while studying, others shortly after the programme ended, and there are those who are still searching, but I'm sure the right opportunity for them will come at the perfect time.

In July 2023 I became an assessor and I have assessed just shy of 100 students to date. The outcome was not always positive, but I believe it helped many of these students get ready for the real world of marketing and project management.
