The Role
You’ll oversee the day-to-day finance function, including month-end and year-end accounts, audit, VAT, payroll, cash flow and financial reporting.
You’ll work closely with the CEO and senior stakeholders, providing commercial financial insight, improving systems and processes and ensuring the business is prepared for its increasing audit and reporting requirements.

You’ll initially manage one direct report, with scope for the team to grow, and will have opportunities to represent the business at its UK and international events.

What We’re Looking For
You’ll be ACCA or ICAEW qualified with strong experience across:
Month-end and year-end accounts
External and internal audit
UK VAT and payroll
Financial reporting and FRS
Xero
Financial systems and process improvement
Presenting financial information to senior stakeholders
Leading, coaching and developing others
European VAT knowledge and experience with DEXT, Fathom, Telleroo or Juro would be advantageous.

Commercial Account Handler
Location: Billericay, Essex – Office Based
Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm, usually finishing around 5:00pm on Fridays

An ambitious and growing independent commercial insurance brokerage is looking for a Commercial Account Handler to join its team in Billericay.
This opportunity would particularly suit someone with around 2+ years' commercial insurance experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Commercial Account Handler – Responsibilities
Handle a portfolio of SME/commercial insurance clients
Deal directly with clients and insurers

Build and maintain strong client relationships
Provide an organised and professional service to clients

Commercial Account Handler – Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' commercial insurance experience
Experience dealing with SME and/or commercial clients preferred
Good understanding of the commercial insurance market
Knowledge of common commercial insurance product lines
Comfortable dealing directly with clients and insurers
Good communication skills
Strong organisational skills
Ambitious with a positive attitude and desire to develop within a growing brokerage
Cert CII would be advantageous but is not essential
