Aldi just renamed its Prestwich store Aldeh ahead of the Oasis reunion – and I’m mad fer it. 🧢🎸

It’s local, cheeky, and didn’t cost a fortune.
One tiny change = loads of buzz, selfies, and feel-good vibes.

I grew up on Oasis and I’m proud of my Northern roots, so this one made me smile – but it’s also a great example of how small businesses can use the same playbook.

You don’t need a big budget.
You just need timing, humour, and a bit of bottle.

Swipe through this week’s Campaign of the Week to see what worked – and how to steal the idea for your own brand.

🎯 CAMPAIGN OF THE WEEK

Some campaigns are clever.
Some are impactful.
And some are… big, inflatable testicles floating through Victoria Harbour.

This one? All three.

To mark Men’s Health Month, Singapore-based agency BBH teamed up with men’s wellbeing brand Noah to get people talking about something many shy away from: men’s sexual health.

The insight?
🚫 60% of men in Hong Kong avoid talking about it.
✅ But humour, visual spectacle, and a bit of boldness go a long way.

The genius?
Those giant balls are not real...
They were created with VFX but made to look like a tourist caught them on video. Smart, scrappy, and shareable. PR catnip.

Why we love it:
💥 Huge earned media hit
🎯 Real insight, tackled head-on
🎥 Budget-friendly trickery that’s totally copyable
😆 And yes, I think wi***es are funny. I’m twelve. Sorry not sorry.

This one made me smile and think. Well done to the team.

✨ Happy New Year! ✨

2025 is finally here, and it’s the perfect time to set big, bold goals for your business.

I love this quote by Peter Drucker: "The best way to predict the future is to create it." 💡

Instead of a New Year’s resolution, I’m setting a New Year’s intention—consistency. 🙌

👉 Consistency in how I show up for my business.
👉 Consistency in supporting my clients.
👉 And consistency in how I approach the less glamorous tasks.

How about you? What’s your intention for 2025? Drop it in the comments below—I’d love to hear it! 🚀

🌟 Campaign of the Week 🌟

Christmas ad season is HERE! 🎄✨ We’ve seen some big names drop their festive campaigns this week – Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, M&S, and Boots – but the one that we're loving? Asda’s gnome-tastic adventure!

This campaign is all about FUN. Five animated gnomes, set to the iconic A-Team theme 🎶, are on a mission to save Christmas. But it’s not just about what’s on-screen – these gnomes are everywhere: TV, in-store, social, OOH, and even a miniature Christmas market on London’s Southbank. 😍 The tiny gnome-themed stalls, set at gnome height, popped up overnight, creating a magical experience for everyone. ✨🎁

Why we’re loving it:
✅ The gnomes are EVERYWHERE – a true multi-channel approach.
✅ They’ve nailed the timing and storytelling, keeping the buzz alive all year.
✅ It’s totally on-brand and SO much fun!

Shoutout to the amazing team behind the magic: Bryan Buckley for directing, Legacy Effects for the 3D wizardry, Rascal Studios for the animation, and Asda’s social and PR teams for the cheeky gnome teasers! 🙌

Well done, Asda – you’ve got us feeling all the Christmas vibes! 👏🎅

Founders, what has been the most significant challenge you've faced in your business journey, and how did you overcome it?

Sharing experiences – both the highs and the lows – can help others on the same path. Let’s create a conversation about resilience, leadership, and problem-solving in business.

When you think of PR, you might picture big brands and media scandals. But PR isn’t just for the big players with huge budgets – small businesses can benefit too. In fact, it can be a game-changer for founder-led businesses looking to grow and reach new customers.

So, what is PR and why does your small business need it?

PR is all about managing how the public sees your business. It’s about building trust and shaping your brand’s reputation through media coverage, social media, partnerships, and community engagement.

Unlike advertising, PR is earned, not paid. It’s getting featured in a local newspaper, landing an interview on a podcast, or being mentioned by an influencer – all without paying for an ad.

Every small business has a story to tell. PR helps you share yours.

PR is one of the most powerful tools small businesses can use for long-term success. It’s not just about gaining media attention – it’s about building credibility and trust with your audience. Appearing in respected publications or having influencers mention your brand provides a level of validation that advertising simply can’t match.

But PR does more than boost your brand awareness. It humanises your business, helping you connect with customers on a deeper level by sharing your story – why you started, what drives you, and how your products or services make an impact.

Beyond storytelling, effective PR can drive significant traffic to your website, increase leads, and even boost conversions. In a crowded marketplace, PR helps differentiate you from competitors by crafting a unique narrative that sets your business apart.
Your business has a unique story that sets it apart – PR helps you bring that story to life and share it with the people who matter.

What is News Hijacking and why is it a Game-Changer for Your Small Business?

News Hijacking is leveraging news stories to generate buzz for your brand and foster meaningful connections with your audience. It can be an extremely powerful tactic to:

1️⃣ Increase Visibility: Jumping on trending news stories allows your brand to be seen by a wider audience, increasing your reach and attracting new customers.
2️⃣ Establishes Authority: Sharing your insights on current events positions you as a thought leader in your industry, building trust and credibility with your audience.
3️⃣ Engages Your Audience: Commentary on relevant news sparks conversations. Engaging your audience can lead to stronger relationships and loyalty.
4️⃣ Boosts Website Traffic: Directing traffic to your website through news-related content can generate leads and conversions, turning casual readers into potential customers.
5️⃣ Cost-Effective Marketing: News hijacking doesn’t require a huge budget. With a little creativity and timely responses, you can make a big impact without spending a chunk of your marketing budget.

🌟 Campaign of the Week 🌟

This week, we’re spotlighting a smart new campaign from Heineken that encourages fans to put down their phones and enjoy live music this autumn. 🎶🍻

Here’s how it works: With clever infrared tech, Heineken created a hidden message visible only through your phone camera, reminding concert-goers to live in the moment. There are no extra apps or downloads—just a simple reminder to soak in the music without distractions.

Plus, they’re taking it a step further with ‘Boring Mode’ – an app that makes your phone, well… boring! It pixelates your camera, blocks apps, and disables notifications, helping you stay present and phone-free.

Why we love this campaign:
✨ It’s not about selling a product; it’s about promoting their purpose: “foster moments of genuine connection.”
✨ Perfectly timed for where their product is enjoyed – at concerts and live events.
✨ Built on a relatable insight: most of us feel a little too connected to our devices.

Cheers to Heineken for inspiring us to enjoy the moment – we’re all for it! 👏🍻
