Inflation continues to be one of the top concerns for people across Europe. In Q4, people in Estonia, Germany, Austria, the UK, Ireland, and France reported higher levels of concern about rising prices compared to the European average. Meanwhile, people in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Lithuania seem to be a bit less worried about inflation.

🌍 Despite the challenges, there’s still plenty of optimism. Overall, most Europeans say they feel positive - or at least somewhat positive - about the future.

Interestingly, even though more than half believe things are heading in the wrong direction in their own country, optimism still outweighs pessimism across the region. Danes, Latvians, and Estonians are among the most optimistic, while people in France, Italy, and Sweden tend to feel a bit less positive.

Consumer confidence and willingness to buy have shifted more and faster in recent years. Here are a few numbers 👇

▶️ 26% of the population have postponed or refrained from purchasing major consumer goods (furniture, electronics, etc.) within the past month.
▶️ 7% expect, to a large or very large extent, to postpone or avoid buying certain food items or household products in the coming month.

We track consumer sentiment across 15 European countries, and the results highlight key regional differences in happiness levels.
To what extent have people felt happy in the last month?
😊 Norway and Ireland top the list, with 48% of respondents reporting they have felt happy to a high or very high extent in the last month. Switzerland follows closely at 46%.
😕 But Italy lags behind, with only 14% recording high levels of happiness.

The Olympics had us all glued to our screens! 🎉 We asked people in France, Poland, Sweden, and the Netherlands how they followed the games and what they enjoyed most. Here’s what we found:

🥇 Most people in these countries believed the USA would take home the most gold medals.
🏃‍♂️ Athletics events created the most buzz and excitement.
🗼 7% of respondents in France even traveled to Paris to catch the events live, while fewer did in Sweden, Poland, and the Netherlands.
📺 The majority watched the Olympics from home via TV or streaming.

Optimism is on the rise! According to recent surveys, 47% of the EU population holds a positive or very positive view of the future. While 27% have neither a positive nor negative view of the future. Let's look forward to brighter days ahead together!

Unfortunately, it looks like many Europeans aren't too thrilled about their workplaces, according to our recent pan-European study. The majority wouldn't really recommend theirs to others. But here's a cool twist – shoutout to Norway and Denmark, where over 30% would happily recommend their workplaces!
