Hello!
As you may know, I got myself a 3D printer earlier this year, just to help the "war effort" against the pandemic, by making 3D printed face shields.
I made a total of 575 face shields, mainly for the NHS, Care Homes, GP practices, Pharmacies and some schools.
Now that I have learned the ropes, 3D printing has become a new hobby :-) I have been experimenting with various printed objects, including a Millennium Falcon, Floating Coffee Cup and (very) loud whistles!
My latest 3D printing find is "Lithophanes", which I think make unique personalised gifts. Or just as a present for yourself! If you are looking for a special gift for any occasion, look up Lithophane Light Boxes.
This is a box (approximately 11cm by 11cm by 11cm), comprising an artistic black frame, and four photos of your choice around the sides. All custom 3D printed, and provided with a central LED light which lights up the box and pictures. See attached images showing one I made earlier!
I think these Lithophane Light Boxes are perfect as a gift, or having as a focal point in any room. 4 of your favourite photos, illuminated. You can move the pictures around the 4 sides as you see fit - they are all interchangeable.
I have made a few of these Lithophane boxes now, for myself and family members, and there is definitely a wow factor when people see them for the first time.
I am now offering to make Lithophane Boxes for a few friends and neighbours. 3D printing is unfortunately not a quick process, and it takes me about 50 hours to print one Lithophane Box. So it can take up to 5 days to make a single Lithophane Box.
I've thought carefully about what's an appropriate price point for a Lithophane Box, which comes complete with a 1 metre LED strip light. I wanted to try and make them affordable whilst covering my costs and allowing me to purchase more materials to make more 3D printed objects. I have decided to pitch them at £30 a box.

- Include 4 photos that you would like in the Lithophane Box. Please try and send as high quality images as possible.
- If necessary, I will crop / edit your pictures to make them fit perfectly to the square ratio required for the box. If anything significant changes with the images when doing this, I will send back to you for your final approval.
- Sit back and wait for delivery. I will try and give you an "ETA", but please remember each box takes me about 5 days to print.
- If I can't get yours done in time for Christmas, I will let you know. You can then either cancel your order or let me know if you are prepared to wait until January.
