Just curious to get other people’s opinions on this because I want to know how others would react.
Imagine you’ve been out at work/running errands all day. Your neighbour has tried to phone once, but you’ve been busy and haven’t answered.
You come home to discover that, because you didn’t answer, your neighbour has accessed your property without getting permission from you, gone into your garage and connected a hose to your water supply so contractors carrying out work on THEIR property can use your water.
The hose isn’t long enough to reach where they need it, so your garage door has been left wide open while you’re away so the hose can run out of your garage and around to the front of their property.
To top it off, you come home to water all over your garage floor because the hose connection has been leaking.
You then have a message from the neighbour basically saying they tried to contact you, hope you don’t mind, but they needed to use your tap and had to leave your garage open because the hose wouldn’t reach.
Would you be pi**ed off?
Would you consider this acceptable because they had tried to contact you first, even though you hadn't actually given permission?
And if this happened to you, how would you deal with it?
Genuinely curious to hear what other people would do in this situation.
