Does your work environment affect your productivity? That's what our guest speaker, Natalie Williams, will be discussing at this Friday's Northern Lights Business Networking meeting.

Most of us blame ourselves when we can't concentrate. We think we're tired, distracted or just not motivated enough. The reality is that the space around us has a bigger influence than most people realise. Natalie will share simple, practical ways to improve your workspace to help you think more clearly, stay focused and feel better throughout the day.

Natalie is an interior designer who believes the spaces we spend time in have a bigger impact on our mood, focus and wellbeing than most people realise. She designs homes and workplaces that help us feel happier, calmer and more productive. Her business is Interior Instincts.

A Friday morning well spent. 😊

I was talking all things email marketing at Northern Lights Business Networking today.

It wasn't really about sending more emails - it was about making marketing feel a bit less overwhelming.

Everyone went home with some homework (sorry, not sorry! 😄). Things like writing an email around a question customers ask all the time, checking how easy it is for people to join their email list, and stopping the hunt for a different idea for every marketing channel.

My hope is that a few people came away thinking, "Actually... I could do that."

Thanks to everyone who came along and got involved. I really enjoyed the conversations afterwards. ❤️

At each of our meetings we share a short tip about how to get the best out of your networking. Martin Hobby // Commercial Photographer filmed the advice he shared with everyone at our last meeting.

A very valid point that's worth hearing whether you're new to networking or you've been doing it for years.

The next Northen Lights Networking meeting is Friday 10th July, Woodside Golf Club, Cranage, Cheshire

Our speaker for this meeting is Len Foster from The Referral Edge

The Awkward Ask

AI is rapidly reshaping how businesses operate, making it faster and easier than ever to produce content, automate processes and scale activity. But as more becomes automated, one thing is becoming increasingly valuable - the ability to build genuine, trust-based relationships.

Author, coach and business consultant, Len Foster, explores how service-based businesses can use this shift to their advantage, strengthening relationships, creating loyal advocates, and generating growth through strategic referrals.

Grounded in decades of real-world experience and informed by the themes developed in his latest book, The Strategic Referral System, Len’s presentation explores:

• Why trust, connection, and client experience influence whether people choose to stay, recommend and advocate

• How referrals can be intentionally designed into the client journey

• The role of language, timing, and positioning in creating natural, high-quality referral opportunities

• The ‘Hero Triangle’ framework - understanding your role in the referral process, and why positioning your client as the hero leads to stronger, longer-lasting relationships

And of course, there’ll be plenty of time for relaxed, friendly networking with other local business owners.

If you’d like to join us, send us a message for more information or book via the links on our page.

Come along, make new connections, and start your Friday with great conversation and fresh opportunities.
