GEW has become known as the go-to UV curing manufacturer for flexographic label and narrow web printing. Our renowned UV LED and UV Arc systems, AeroLED2 and E2C, can be used simultaneously on a press, and interchanged to suit the job in hand. This versatility is just one of the many reasons that GEW systems are chosen the world over.

Beyond label and narrow web, we’ve seen a huge expansion into other markets, such as industrial print, wood coating, flooring and sheetfed offset printing, both on the commercial side and packaging side.

These industries often require the most powerful UV LED and UV Arc curing systems to guarantee curing across a range of substrates. For such markets, we provide our water-cooled UV LED curing system, LeoLED2, and our conventional UV Arc system, E4C, which is both water and air-cooled.

LeoLED2 is available in two forms – a cassette version, and a compact version for machines that have less available space. LeoLED2 is offered in two power levels, with the higher option offering electrical power of 147W / cm, a UV dose of 300mJ / cm² and a UV irradiance of 44W / cm², for the most demanding applications.

E4C offers an electrical power of 220W / cm, a UV dose of 220mJ / cm² and a UV irradiance of 10.7W / cm².

E4C and LeoLED2 are ArcLED interchangeable, in the same way as AeroLED2 and E2C. In addition to job versatility, this also means that customers can choose to work with UV Arc technology now, if they wish, and simply upgrade to UV LED technology when the time is right for their business and needs.

Following last year’s hugely successful event, we are delighted to be at the VI Congress for Self-Adhesive Labels once again. Taking place at the Gołębiewski Mikołajki Hotel in Poland on the 11th and 12th June, the event is all set to be super busy and well attended once more.

GEW’s Jamie Neill will be in attendance and will be making a presentation on June 11th at 11.25am, which will focus on precision control in the UV curing process. Jamie will show how control systems manage curing quality and production stability to greatly reduce problems that can typically arise during label printing. This is a particularly important topic for printers looking for greater process consistency and repeatable high quality.
