It is time for us to start telling you all about the exciting things you can expect to find at Belper Arts Trail.
And in keeping with Belper Arts Trail tradition, we will do this in alphabetical order.
A is, of course, for...
ARTS TRAIL!
Belper arts trail is split into two trails - an upper trail and a lower trail.
It takes place over two days, Sunday 4th and Bank Holiday Monday 5th May, which should give you time to see everything!
During those two days you will be able to find about 170 artists and makers in over 50 venues all over town from pubs and cafes to shoe shops and hair dressers!
It is a great opportunity to see a huge range of different artistic skills and to meet the maker. There will be plenty of wonderful things to buy and the artists will all be happy to chat to you about their work.
The trail is supported by a full live music programme with the main stage on the Memorial Gardens, the Studio Stage on Chapel Street and the Conversion Stage at the rugby club aswell as 3 busk stops.
We also have a Children’s Theatre Show on each day in the Baptist Church and, at certain times throughout the two days, you may well find some Star Wars themed entertainment with stilts, big bubbles and ribbon dancing.
There will be participatory activities with Fleet Arts at the Co-Create space in the Co-op and at Cariad Corner in the 1924 building.
A wristband and an arts trail guide will guarantee you entry into every venue on the map and they cost just £5 per person. Save your wristband as they are numbered and we do have a prize draw after the trail for a chance to win £50.
Please note the Children’s Theatre Show is an extra cost.
It’s an event that brings our community together with, hopefully, something for everybody.
And we haven't let the date go unnoticed! The Star Wars theme is welcomed so get your fancy dress clothes out and come and celebrate the 12th year of the arts trail with us and see Belper at it’s creative best!
