Gosh I feel good!!!

Seriously there have been days that I have been so tired the last thing I wanted to do was exercise. As you can see there are a few gaps.

The thing is though, I started to feel worse on the days I missed, which really shows me that exercise has massive mental health benefits.

I wanted to run more than I have but that’s something I will continue to work on.

So ... if you feel low, tired, demotivated, indescribably flat then get up and get moving! Exercise isn’t just for losing weight, it’s for your mind too.

Thank you and and of course for this month, it has really helped me to stay motivated and I know I will keep it up.

How much marketing should I do?

As you know there are many different marketing activities that you can use to promote your business. This can feel very overwhelming and might even make you feel like it is too big a job to even start any promotions.

The good news is that you don’t need to do everything at once.
-
Only choose a couple of marketing activities and do them really, really well.
-
I would suggest starting with your website. Make sure that the content is answering your clients’ questions. It needs to tell them how you can solve their problems for them and have a strong call to action that is very clear in what is expected from them.

Use Google to search for the products or services that are the same as yours. Work out which keywords you need to use in your content for your target audience to find you without paying Google ads.

The tools of my trade!⠀

There are not many things that I need to be a marketer, my mind is obviously my biggest asset – it holds so much knowledge and experience after doing a Degree in Marketing, A Chartered Institute of Marketing Post Grad Diploma and more than 20 years’ experience of working in marketing.⠀
⠀
I also use my laptop and phone extensively – excel and word are my best friends when it comes to creating marketing and implementation plans.⠀
There are so many apps out there, but I am a bit of an old hat and not yet found any that I couldn’t live without. I guess if I had to pick two that made my life easier it would be Canva and Buffer, they are great for small businesses with limited budgets.⠀

Time for me!
-
This month I have been doing and it has proven to be so therapeutic. Getting outside everyday even if it’s just for a little walk makes me feel so much better.
-
I’ve also exercised everyday and rediscovered my love of running.
-
Having a weekend away at the spa means that I’m really invested in myself and wellbeing. I feel reinvigorated and ready for my challenge of growing our business this year. It just goes to prove that taking time out for yourself is super beneficial.

Since 2011 I have been in and out of business for myself. How time flies!

I started off doing some freelance work for a friend’s copywriting business.

I then formed a partnership, Little Chicken Marketing, with one of my best friends from University. We worked together for four years before she moved back to Wales and I went to work in-house as Business Development Manager for a Law Firm. In that time, I had my third baby and once I went back to work after maternity leave things had changed in the business and the job wasn’t what it was originally meant to be.

I left in September 2018 and reignited Little Chicken Marketing on my own. After 15 months of being a sole trader, I am about to make my final (hopefully) move and merge with Prime Mix Marketing.

We intend to take over the world and become the go-to marketing agency in Worcestershire for SME’s in the services sector.

I love dancing.

It isn’t something I do very often anymore, I mean come on, who has the energy for clubbing when they get to my age with three children?

My friends have stopped getting married now so the opportunities at weddings are all gone. Mind you, the 40/50th birthday parties have been pretty great for dancing fun.

So, with the dancing parties drying up and the clubbing nights over, for now the best place for me to dance is around my house.

Now, yes, I am sure that you have visions of Hugh Grant in Love Actually and you will be pleased to know that this is exactly how it looks!!

My kids used to join in and think it was such fun. Nowadays it is just the most embarrassing and stupidest thing they have ever seen. I am no longer cool!
