Am I the only one seriously crushing on REFY’s feed right now?! 😍 it’s only right that we take a look at how they *we think* they did it and what you can do to build your stand out aesthetic too!
Now, I don’t strategise for Refy Beauty (I wish!), but I have built strategies for some amazing beauty brands and based of scrolling their Instagram feed, here’s some advice on curating yours! 👇🏽
01 // INCORPORATING THE MISSION & VALUES
I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, STRATEGY FIRST.
Refy’s brand values were well defined before their visulas and they carrdied that through to thier content, making sure they radiate simplicity and beauty.
02 // ASKING THE AUDIENCE
In 2023 REFY used a few different feed layouts. This could have been a trial, or an easier way to showcase different products, but what changed the game was when they asked what we preferred! At the end of the year, they showed us all options and asked what we liked best. Knowing what we want to see means they have the upper hand in curating the perfect feed for us to look at.
03 // BRANDED MERCH
REFY don’t just make sure their packaging is on brand, they make sure everything with their name on matches.
They’ve taken a good look at their audience and incorporated lifestyle content that they know we’ll love, with the added extra of keeping it visually appealing!
04 // BRANDED MERCH
Let’s be honest, we’re gagging to see what goes on behind the brand! Showcasing the behind the scenes content makes REFY relatable and constantly gives them new content to post.
And yup, it is all on brand!
And the *hidden* gem 💎
05 // HIDDEN CONTENT!
Sometimes there’s things we want to show our audience, that just don’t fit the feed. REFY get around this by using carousel posts, where the front image fits the feed
and the strong content comes in on the second slide.
The same goes for UGC. We know how important it is, but it doesn’t always match our aesthetic, meaning
it throws the whole feed off! Refy add a lot of customer selfies, that don’t fit the feed, in carousels with an on brand front image.
Truth is, it’s masterfully created, but you can do the same with your brand!
