Hot on the heels of last week's announcement by Mitsubishi HiTec Paper and Sappi Europe that there would be further double-digit paper price increases, news has brokwn today that Antalis has now flagged price rises of up to 20% – and possibly even more than that on certain materials – from next month. It's also believed that other paper merchants are known to be preparing notification letters after major papermakers raised prices.

MORE PAPER PRICE RISES LOOM LARGE
Another wave of paper price rises look set to impact the sector as two manufacturers announce further double-digit increases.
Mitsubishi HiTec Paper and Sappi Europe have separately announced increases across their portfolios from next month with both manufacturers citing continuing rising cost and volatility in raw materials, energy and transportation.
Mitsubishi HiTec Paper is set to raise prices across its entire portfolio by up to 15% from 1st Sept while Sappi Europe is to raise the prices of its woodfree coated and uncoated papers, and paperboard, by 8-10% from 12th Sept.
This is most unwelcome news as the industry battles against seemingly constant price increases and as further details are revealed we will keep our customers informed.

At last!!! Great news for the paper & print industry

The Finnish Paperworkers' Union has agreed a settlement proposal to end the devastating long-running strike action at UPM.
