Malleny Garden & Estate, Balerno 🌿🍎

A true hidden gem only 20 minutes from Edinburgh! I genuinely can’t believe I haven’t seen more people talk about this place. We pretty much had the whole garden to ourselves and it was SO quiet and peaceful.

There are apples and pumpkins growing at the moment, the cutest little conservatory and apparently over 150 varieties of roses.

The view of the fountain in front of the house looks straight out of a fairytale. I can only imagine how beautiful this place would be for wedding photos!

Old Man of Storr, Isle of Skye, is one of those places that makes you feel alive again. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

How many incredible places have you saved on social media… only for them to end up in your saved posts graveyard?

Getting inspired online is great, but it means nothing if you never turn it into a real memory.

There’s seeing a beautiful picture, and then there’s seeing it with your own eyes.

I love trying to capture how these places made me feel, but no photo or reel will ever do them justice.

And the reality isn’t always picture-perfect.

There are tourists, you might have to wait for a parking space, it’s windy, it rains, and sometimes the clouds completely hide the view. But that’s what makes it real.

Then the clouds break, the sun comes out, you sit down with a hot tea and a snack after the climb, and for a moment everything just feels right.

That’s life. Those are the moments that stay with you.

Turn those saved posts into memories. And if a trip like this would break the bank, look a little closer to home.

Some of the best adventures are closer than you think-you don’t always have to visit the most Instagram-famous place. 🫶

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit fried from being online all the time… so I’ve been trying to get out more and just be outside where possible 🌿 These were a couple of recent finds for really lovely walks within driving distance of Edinburgh:

– near Peebles, right by the River Tweed. Super easy, calming walk within the woodland st the estate… I caught it when their carpet of snowdrops was just out, but they also have a walled garden for later on in the season 🌺

– part of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and honestly didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. It’s really quiet, loads of space, big trees everywhere and just feels a bit removed from everything. The SILENCE, when you climb up the hill is incredible.

So yeah, my current motto: Go outside and look at something green 🤣🤣 🍃
