Struggling to keep up with your business’ social media?

I’m bringing my Social Media 101 Workshop in Falmouth next week on Tuesday the 26th of May from 10am-12pm at The Poly (in the Library).

This session is designed specifically for independent business owners who want to create high-quality content without needing a professional camera or a massive marketing budget. The workshop helps attendees gain the confidence to master their own marketing, while teaching them how to capture high-quality photos and videos using nothing but their smartphone.

This workshop has a max capacity of 12 attendees to ensure I can work with each of you 1:1 during the live demonstrations so we can address your specific business goals and creative hurdles.

What we’ll cover in 2 hours:

Lighting and Framing: how to improve the quality of your photos and videos using just your smartphone.

Reels made easy: how to effectively film and edit engaging video content quickly, so it doesn’t eat up your whole day.

Content Strategy: I’ll teach my simple 3-pillar framework so that you’re never stuck wondering what to post.

Plus the ticket includes a digital copy of my Social Media Checklist booklet!

The goal is for you to leave feeling confident, inspired, and with a clear plan for your brand’s social media.

The Details:
Where: The Poly, Falmouth
When: Tuesday 26th May from 10am-12pm
Tickets & Info: https://www.harriebaxter.co.uk/services-store/p/social-media-101-workshop-1

If you have any questions at all about the session, please feel free to ask in the comments!

My advice to keep your panning shots steady?

Pretend you’re doing tai chi!

And by that I mean, keep your feet pretty squarely set of the ground, bend at the knees and gently shift the weight from one foot to another.

Hands are shaky. Taking steps requires you to balance your camera with fumble like precision. So take some notes from tai chi!

Since we’re not trying to be award winning videographers here and we’re keeping ourselves on a budget with minimal gear… let’s work with what we’ve got, our bodies!

Next time you want to take a video whilst moving the camera, ground yourself, bend your knees and move that camera with grace ✨

Oh and Falmouth, I’m bring my Social Media 101 workshop to you next! I’ll see you Tuesday the 26th of May at the Poly. Tickets available on my website, link in my bio 🔗

I may be a social media manager but I’ll still be the first to tell people that you absolutely CAN master your social media marketing without hiring someone like me to do it all for you.

You probably just need to set aside some time to learn how.

The biggest hurdle I see with most small business owners is simply that they’ve never been taught how to take good quality photos and videos.

And fair enough!

They’ve been busy setting up and running a business.

That’s one of the reasons I set up my Social Media 101 Workshop. So that small business owners can come to a 2 hour one-stop-workshop where they learn the basics of social media marketing and leave feeling confident to take the reins.

If you can’t attend one of these workshops then you can also hire me to assist you remotely by booking in consultation sessions where I give you feedback on how to improve the content you’re already making and help you come up with content ideas. And soon enough, you’ll be feeling more than capable to do it all without me!

Drop me a DM and we can jump on a zoom call together to see how I can help you gain the confidence to tackle your social media marketing. Or comment where you’d like me to bring my workshop to next!

✨ In May you can find me hosting my workshop in Cirencester (6th), Bristol (11th), Exeter (18th) and Falmouth (26th) ✨

David Purvis is the stained glass artist behind Condottieri Glass in Berwick Upon Tweed. Or as his endearing 'Purvis Heritage' plaque (gifted to him by his family) says he is a Dad since 1996, Resident DJ, Forgetful T**t, Glass Maker, Mug breaker. He's also a Reggae music lover, Berwick Upon Tweed's local movie night organiser and host (big fan of Ryan Gosling) and an avid kayaker.

When meeting and interviewing David, it became abundantly clear how deeply invested he is in his community. David is a person who brings people together and who knows how to organise a good time. He hosts a monthly movie night where he creates themed handouts for everyone (once providing fish and chips for everyone because it was on theme!). Him and his wife have been known to organise and host DJ nights and of course, he also runs stained glass workshops too.

David truly gets what makes a healthy and thriving community. As we say in Aotearoa; he tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata (it is people, it is people it is people).

Alongside this, he also runs Meantime Workshop, a set of small studios, including his own, for local entrepreneurs who need a small place where they can get the ball rolling on their business. Meantime Workshops is currently home to Karmic Cakery (vegan bakery/cafe), Bear Claw Brewery and Condottieri Glass.

It was a pleasure to interview and get to know David. Go show him some support on Instagram at Condottieri Glass and stay tuned for more of his workshops. He also mentioned he'd be open to hosting workshops further afield (eg: Edinburgh) so please show your interest in the comments!

Struggling to keep up with your business’s social media?
Kia Ora! I'm Harrie, and I'm bringing my Social Media 101 workshop to Cattivo Pizza, Cirencester on May 6th (10am-12pm) to help you master marketing using just your smartphone.

I designed this 2 hour workshop specifically for independent business owners who want to create high-end content but don't have the budget to hire a whole marketing team. I know how much of a slog it can feel to think about promoting yourself on social media on top of the never ending to-do list that comes with running your own business. So in this workshop I cut straight to the chase to arm you with the essential techniques and tricks you need to successfully get creating content (and hopefully have some fun with it too!).

I’m keeping the group small (max 12 people) so that I can work with each of you 1:1 on your specific brand and address the creative hurdles you’re facing.

If you’d like to join a group of fellow local creatives and craftspeople for some skill-building, I’d love to see you there!
