The Social Loom

The Social Loom The Social Loom is where story, strategy and soul come together. I work with values-led brands to create social media that actually feels like them.

No noise, no fluff, just thoughtful content, clear messaging and genuine connection.

There’s something I’ve realised over the last few years working with online communities.

Some of the people doing the most meaningful work are often the hardest to find online.

The volunteers giving up evenings and weekends.
The charities stretching every penny.
The independent businesses built on drive, passion and heart.
The community organisations quietly making a real difference to peoples lives every single day.

Not because what they do lacks value, but because many simply do not have the time, confidence or support to show up online in a way that truly reflects who they are and their values and ethos.

I want to do something about that.

Through The Social Loom, I’m starting a new project focused on helping overlooked organisations strengthen their online presence through better storytelling, visibility and social media support, while sharing the journey along the way.

I want to help good people get seen in the right way by the right people 💗

If you know a charity, club, independent business or community project that deserves more of the right visibility and support, tag them below or send me a message.

And if you’d like to follow the journey, I’d love to have you here ✨

There’s a lot of pressure to be everywhere, all the time and on multiple channels, but more content doesn’t always mean better results.

Thoughtful, consistent content that actually reflects your brand will always go further. It’s slower, but it works to represent your brand in the right way.

I volunteered to help with a rugby club’s social media and quickly realised the issue wasn’t effort, because lots of people were already posting and trying… the problem was brand recognition. Things were going out, but they didn’t feel connected or consistent and if a post appeared in your feed you wouldn’t instantly know it was ours without checking the name.

So instead of increasing volume, I focused on familiarity. I started keeping colours consistent, repeating formats so people subconsciously learned what they were seeing, and using the kind of language members actually use around the club rather than formal club wording. The badger became a really important part of that; not just a logo in the corner but something that acted almost like a familiar face across posts and gently, over time people recognised the club before they even read anything.

Gradually the shift was noticeable. People weren’t just seeing posts anymore, they were expecting them. Parents began commenting on updates, players tagged their friends, opposition interacted and more importantly people actually turned up because they felt involved before they arrived.
Different platforms played different roles as well. Facebook brought the community and conversation space, while Instagram helped the club feel visible and current for players and younger members but the identity stayed the same so wherever someone saw us it still felt like the same place.
What interested me most was that the real change wasn’t reach, it was behaviour. Consistency created recognition, recognition created belonging and belonging brought people onto the pitch.

Because when a club feels familiar online, it becomes familiar in real life too. And that’s where community actually happens.

Sometimes you gotta put yourself out there in the world.
Not with a megaphone. Not with a glossy mask.
Just you. Threads of passion, quirks, bold ideas and all. ✨

If anyone needs me, I’ll be over here weaving stories (with a strong coffee in hand). ☕✨

It’s been a minute, so quick reintroduction 👋
I’m Beki, juggling three kids, volunteering, and The Social Loom. I help brands find their voice online. I hate photos of myself but you've got to put a face to the brand, right?

Wrong... You don't _have_ to do anything you don't want to do, but putting your face out there can be a powerful way to really connect people in a digital environment. It really helps when your friend is an expert photographer with mad editing skills ()

So here's my face. 👀

I had the pleasure of filming this for Felixstowe Rugby Club last week; just one of many moments I’ve helped bring to life through their socials this past year.

When people hear “brand building,” they often think of slick campaigns and commercial goals but that’s not what it means here. A rugby club doesn’t need a brand in the corporate sense. What it does need is a way to tell its story with heart, clarity and consistency.

That’s where we come in. The Social Loom helps people, communities and businesses shape and share what makes them special, so people can see it, feel it, and get behind it. 🥰

It's been a really busy few weeks for me, meeting some new clients, putting their ideas into action as well as content creation.

But here’s an insight into what brewing ideas at The Social Loom looks like ☕💻
From voice notes to visuals, everything starts with real people and real conversations.

If you had 1 hour of my time for free, what would you ask about your socials?
