A year ago today, I was removed from a business I’d co-founded and devoted years to building from the ground up. It was unexpected, it was tough, and it came at a time when my focus should have been on my newborn son, who was just 17 days old. The past year has been one of upheaval in more ways than one, testing resilience both personally and professionally.
Since leaving Kraken, I’ve had to watch from the sidelines as the company I nurtured has changed in ways that are hard to see. The brand I poured so much into - one I was once immensely proud to stand behind - no longer reflects what it once stood for.
But through it all, I’ve gained perspective. I’ve learned a lot - about business, about people, and about what really matters. While I had to step away from the industry to keep things afloat at home, I knew I'd return to sailing and adventure travel.
For those who’ve supported me through the toughest of years - thank you. For those still reaching out about Kraken, I hope this makes things clear: I am not involved in any way.
I’m certain that my next sailing business chapter is going to be just as exciting as the golden days of Kraken, but for now, I’m loving time spent both professionally and socially on the water - and, more importantly, being the best dad and husband I can be.
