Before I worked in marketing tech, I worked in the Print and Direct Mail industry. I was the account manager. The person that stood between the client and production.

Which meant there was always a problem to solve.

Machines breaking down. Client specs changing at the last minute. Human error (or people doing daft things).

And I'm not even joking when I say things went even more awry around a full moon.

All of this taught me that things will not always go to plan. Obviously.

But what matters is how you respond when they don't.

No panicking, no guessing, no rushing and making it worse.

Instead, take a step back and find out what you need to know. Then work through possible solutions.

It turns out that's a very transferable skill. (Which was news to me as I was slightly institutionalised, but that's another post.)

It's exactly how I approach tech issues now. Calmly and one step at a time.

Even when the moon is doing its thing.

What is a Tech Focus Session?

I added Tech Focus Sessions to my services to support clients who didn't need ongoing support but wanted dedicated time to implement systems for their marketing tech.

Choose from a half or full day session depending on your needs.

Tell me what's not working and what you want to happen. I'll get to work, set things up, test it, document it, and hand it over.

The result is marketing tech that actually works, set up for you in a day.

You get automation tasks ticked off your to-do list and save stress and time so you can focus on doing what really matters.

See the link in my bio for more info.

One system over here, another over there. They don't talk to each other.

I hear this a lot on discovery calls.

And often the reason things feel disjointed is that your business has grown, but the systems didn't grow with it.

Things just need sorting out so they flow better.

For example:

→ A client checks out and automatically receives a welcome email and an invite to your membership site.

→ Or a lead magnet subscriber is added to your email list and tagged properly so they receive the right sequence.

→ Or when someone completes your course, they're automatically moved from your 'active students' list to 'alumni', sent a feedback survey, offered your next course at a discount, and removed from lesson reminder emails.

When systems are joined up correctly, your business runs more smoothly and you spend less time doing things manually and stressing over if it's been done correctly or not.

Joined up systems = less mental load.

Dyscalculia was discussed in the House of Lords last year.

Yet many people still haven't heard of it.

My son was diagnosed with dyscalculia last year.

Dyscalculia is a learning difference that affects how the brain processes numbers. It is often described as dyslexia for numbers.

Having a diagnosis has really helped us. It's given us language and understanding. I can now recognise the kinds of things he finds difficult and why.

Things like answering questions under time pressure.

Or even something that sounds simple, like writing the date at the top of a page, which can be genuinely exhausting before the lesson has even started.

I know there are many teachers and professionals working hard to support children with additional needs. At the same time, awareness and specialist provision for dyscalculia still lag far behind dyslexia.

It's thought to affect around 1 in 20 people.

Today (3rd March) is Dyscalculia Awareness Day. The more people who know about it, the better.

Why continue to struggle with your marketing tech?

It’s not your job. Your job is to deliver exceptional service to your wonderful clients.

Leave the tech to me, it’s my job.

Delegating your marketing tech reduces stress and mental load. It frees you up to concentrate on the work you actually enjoy.

When things are not quite connected, when you suspect the customer journey might be confusing, when you’re holding it all together with a mental checklist... it takes up space in your head. Even when you’re not actively thinking about it.

Clients have told me that once the tech is off their plate, they stop worrying about it and can focus fully on their clients.

If this sounds familiar, a Tech Focus Session can help you get things sorted. It might be worth a conversation.

Documenting my clients’ marketing tech is a big part of what I do.

It’s essential for any business that wants to function smoothly and scale without friction.

If you don’t document and your marketing tech lives in your head, how do you delegate? How do you know what to fix if something breaks? And what happens when you revisit something six months later and can’t remember what you’ve done?

It’s a recipe for messy tech spaghetti.

When I work with clients, I document as standard, using Airtable and Google Docs. This means you and your team know what’s happening, why it’s happening, and how to explain it to someone else if you need to.

If you don’t feel confident in your marketing tech, it’s likely adding to your mental load and stopping you from working on what you love doing.

Maybe now is the time to get it fixed and free up some headspace?

I’m Rachel, a marketing tech specialist helping businesses get their systems working properly.

If your marketing tech stresses you out, or you know things could be automated but don’t know where to start, that’s where I come in.

I work on the behind the scenes stuff. Automations. Integrations. Getting your tools talking to each other. Fixing what’s broken. Setting up what’s missing.

The result?

Less stress about the tech so you can focus on what you want to achieve. Systems that work. More headspace for your actual work.

I offer Tech Focus Sessions (half day or full day) where we get straight into your setup and sort it out properly. I also offer ongoing support for when you need reliable tech help without the drama.

I’m an ActiveCampaign expert and design automations and workflows that connect your marketing tools properly, whether that’s ActiveCampaign, Kit, ThriveCart, Circle, Airtable, Zapier, or something else entirely.

If you’re ready to get your marketing tech sorted, link in bio or send me a message.

My new website sorted and it’s now live 🎉

At times during the process it did feel a little bit like wrestling a cute, fun, piglet (and maybe not in a fun way).

I know I’m not great at making things look pretty and I’m not a website developer.

I did feel despair and like I just needed to sack it all off. It also took way longer than I planned.

But when it comes to tech, I’m driven to problem solve and get to the bottom of things. And I did, with the help of research and support desks. I figured it out and everything clicked into place.

This is just what I love to do for my clients too. Some times there’s a quick fix and sometimes it’s a glitch and needs a call to a help desk.

The link to my website is in the comments, you’re very welcome to have a look.

“The best way to get something done is to begin.” – Unknown

But sometimes the biggest barrier to beginning is trying to figure out how.

I was chatting with a new client recently, and she said:

“Talking to you means I don't have to think about how things will happen. I just get to be creative”

She had a clear vision for how she wanted to welcome and support new clients into her Membership programme.

My job was to take her vision and make it real, by setting up the tech, the automations, and the structure behind the scenes.

- My client gets to focus on what she loves doing - creating a wonderful Membership.

- I get to focus on what I love doing - playing with tech like ActiveCampaign, ThriveCart, Circle, and Airtable 💙❤️🩷🧡

Because when you're supported to do your thing, you create space for progress and reduce your mental load.

So if you're bubbling with creativity, but you're finding tech is blocking you from making progress, dm me!

Now if only I could reduce the mental load of what to feed my fussy family for tea every night 🙃

💻 Tech Stress? Sorted!

Melinda’s Masterclass is Live! 🎉

Melinda, a brilliant makeup artist, was ready to launch her Soft Smokey Eyes Masterclass, but tech was getting in the way.

✨ Sales pages
✨ Automations
✨ Enrolments

Not her thing. But definitely mine.

I set up her course in ThriveCart Learn, built the sales page, and got stuff automated.

Now, Melinda can focus on what she loves, helping her clients feel amazing, without the tech headache.
