šŸ“© When we set up business Email, our #1 priority is ā€œdeliverabilityā€ - making sure that your clients receive your emails.

So we take care of it all: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SMTP, SSL - - all the IT basement acronyms you’ve probably never heard of (and don’t care about). We even send your prospects to a thank-you page after they’ve submitted a form, saying we’ve sent a copy back to their email address - please check your email. In short, we do everything we can to ensure your emails land where they should.

That said, deliverability is never 100%. To prove it, I thought this was quite a funny example. Here we have an email from Microsoft themselves, going into my spam folder. What makes it really funny is the email address in question is a Microsoft Outlook. So there you go - even Microsoft can’t deliver an email from their own domain into their own email service. You have to laugh sometimes.

While we’re here… Did I mention we include professional email with every website plan, so you can ditch the and , and have your emails go to and from your own business domain? We can’t have you looking all professional on your website, then emailing your prospects back from your high school hotmail address, can we šŸ‘€

Some business owners assume you need a big, complicated website to get results - the bigger the better.

In reality, a one page or ā€˜landing page’ site can transform your business. Link your one pager up with a Google Business Profile or Social Media account (both free), and hey presto - you have your own high converting, client-getting funnel.

Just ask our client Tom, aka The Man With The Red Suit, who got a staggering 800+ enquiries in the last year through his one page website. His site may not be big, but it doesn’t need to be. It perfectly captures the value of the service, with quality and professionalism evident in every scroll.

You can get your own one page site like this - - fully custom designed along with hosting, updates, a proper email address to enhance your credibility, and more, all taken care of - - with The Works Web Design, for only £60 per month.

Here are some recent results/numbers from running Facebook ads for a local bathroom installer.

What do you actually get when you have a company like us ā€˜run your ads’ - what can we do that’s different or better than just putting up your own ad or boosting posts? Honestly that is a great question.

Rather than set the goal of the ad to get messages or send people to the general website to get lost and fizzle out, we created a high converting landing page to direct people to. That means, a single funnel page to bring everything together and really sell people on the company and offer. It's more effort (for us), but it's much more convincing for the customer than just a Facebook ad alone.

Once on the landing page, people are directed to fill out an enquiry form. In the form, we capture their full contact details including phone number, so our client can contact their leads properly and professionally - not be ghosted on messenger or email.

When it comes to the ad itself, we didn’t just put up a quick post and sit back while it burned through our client’s money. We monitored closely what was actually happening. We experimented with the ad format and created a couple of variations to see what worked best.

At first we started with a photo based ad, and found the results could be better. So we created a before and after video of a bathroom transformation, and the engagement and quality shot up dramatically.

We also decided to put the price front and centre on the ad and the landing page, so you can’t miss it. Why? First because in this case it helps sell the service, but mainly because we don’t want to send pointless leads to our client. The kind of leads who DM you ā€œhow much is itā€, and then you never hear from again. That way, everyone who gets in touch knows the starting budget and can afford the service - Instant boost in lead quality.

We’re not done - we'll continue to test more ad variations, and the next step is to help the client beef up their process after the leads come in. But we’ve got a front end system going that’s bringing in reliable enquiries. And it hasn’t taken months of experimentation and hundreds of pounds to get to that point. Within a week we had the system up and running and producing results.

If you have a business in the same or a similar industry, I’m confident we can help you too. If you’re interested, just reach out on here or on our contact form and let’s have a conversation (no pressure, no sales pitch).

Here's another Works Web Design custom one page website that went live two weeks ago. Tom B, or the 'Man With The Red Suit', is an incredible musician and entertainer who wanted a lead-grabbing website to be the centrepiece for his social media and in-person marketing efforts. The client was delighted with the design and has been inundated with enquiries in the weeks since. That's what we like to hear!

Happy new year, and hope you are having a strong start to 2024.

Here is a one page website completed right before Christmas for a super client, Vitality Boost personal training. A clean, calm design to let the quality of the service shine through. It got its very first enquiry a few days ago, which is really fast for a site that's still only a couple of weeks old.

A one page website is a condensed website that fits everything onto a single page - the perfect companion to a Facebook or GMB profile, or to put on flyers and business cards. Despite their compact size, we have a few ā€˜one pagers’ that punch well above their weight in organic search too. A well constructed single page can convert higher than a multi-page website when done right.

We're proud to have worked with Beecraigs Festive Forest this year, one of the UK's top outdoor Christmas attractions. Last year the Beecraigs team had some challenges with their website hosting, and this year were looking for a reliable hosting partner who could manage the inevitable large spike in traffic come October-December. I’m pleased to say we achieved this 100%. Running an in-demand event is always going to throw up unexpected challenges, but we worked behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and stress free experience for visitors.

Thank you everyone at Beecraigs Festive Forest for the opportunity to be involved in such a fantastic event, and thank you to all our clients for placing your trust in us this year. We wish you all a wonderful Christmas, and look forward to seeing you again in 2024.

This business hadn't touched their website for some time, and at some point the home page had completely stopped working!

They're not ready for a full scale redesign at this time, but they obviously wanted the issue fixed as soon as possible, and the previous host wasn't helping.

We got to the bottom of the error and fixed a bunch of other things within 24 hours of migrating the website to our managed hosting. The website is working again, and the business now has help on hand any time they need it.

This kind of feedback is music to our ears… When SEO work has been going on in the background for a couple of months, but the effect of those many cumulative improvements is suddenly felt, the resulting boost in rankings can seem sudden and dramatic. There’s nothing better than seeing results happening for clients. Excited to see what the new year will bring for this company.
