One of my favourite parts of my job is that people often come to me thinking they need help with one thing...
..and we end up solving something completely different!šŸ’«

Sometimes it is about social media.

But sometimes it's about finding a calmer way of approaching it, building better systems, or simply making everything feel a little less overwhelming.

I think that's why I enjoy one-to-one support so much!🄰

Every business is different, and more often than not, we end up solving something neither of us expected when we first sat downšŸ«¶šŸ»

I think this might be one of the quickest content shoots I've ever done šŸ˜‚

It was 32 degrees, we'd just done a Pilates class and, by the time we got to the actual filming, neither of us was particularly interested in spending hours in a very hot studio…

Luckily, I didn't need to!šŸ‘šŸ»

I've been working with this client for a while now, so I've got a bank of footage from previous shoots that I can use alongside anything we film each month. And because we'd already planned out September's content, I knew exactly what I needed to get from this shoot and what I could pull from the footage I've already got.

So we filmed for about half an hour, I got everything I needed and we called it a day!!

Which, in 32 degree heat, felt like a pretty successful morning to mešŸ˜…

Sometimes having a bank of content and a plan already in place just makes things a whole lot easier!šŸ’«

I've been thinking about this a lot recently...

I don't think your business should have to change to fit social media.

I think your social media should fit around your business.

But maybe that's just meā€¦šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

One of the biggest things that’s changed over the last couple of years isn’t necessarily what I do... it’s how I do it.

When I first started AmyLizSocial, I thought everyone needed the same sort of support…

Now, I’ve realised that every business needs something a little different!šŸ’«

šŸ”¹Some business owners want to hand social media over completely so they can focus on running their business.
šŸ”¹Some love creating content themselves but need a bit of structure, a plan or someone to help bring their ideas to life.
šŸ”¹Others just need a bit of guidance, someone to bounce ideas around with or help building systems that make showing up online feel a little less overwhelming.

That’s why I support my clients in a few different ways!šŸ«¶šŸ»

Whatever that looks like, my aim is always the same... helping small businesses build an online presence that reflects the business they’ve worked so hard to build.

If you’ve been thinking about getting some support with your social media but you’re not quite sure where to start, my inbox is always open for a chat. We can simply talk through what might work best for youšŸ“§

Hi, I’m Amy, and I run AmyLizSocial!šŸ‘‹šŸ»

I thought it was probably about time I properly reintroduced myself, because both my business and the way I work have changed quite a lot over the last couple of years.

I’m a self-taught social media manager, helping small businesses show up online in a way that actually feels like them.

Most of the people I work with know they should be posting, but don’t always know where to start, what to say or how to fit it around everything else that comes with running a business. That’s where I come in!šŸ«¶šŸ»

I like to keep things calm, collaborative and tailored to each business because no two businesses are ever the same.

For me, social media isn’t about creating content for the sake of it. It’s about giving businesses a platform that showcases what they actually do, the work they’re proud of, the values behind it and the people behind the business. I want their online presence to reflect the business they’ve worked so hard to build!!

These days, I support my clients in a few different ways, whether that’s through full social media management, my Plan, Shoot, Edit package or 1:1 support for business owners who want to feel more confident managing their own content.

What I enjoy most, though, is building long term relationships with lovely people and becoming a genuine extension of their business. I think that’s probably my favourite part of the job🄰

So, if you’re new here, welcome. I’m really glad you’ve found your way to my little corner of the internet!šŸŒ

Running your own business is amazing, but it definitely comes with moments that people don’t always talk aboutā€¦šŸ«

Most of the time, we share the good bits. The new clients, the growth, the things that feel exciting and worth celebrating. And those moments are real!!

BUT there are also quieter days where you question things. Where you wonder if you're making the right decisions, or if you're actually as good as you thought you were. Days where switching off feels harder because your business sits in the back of your mind.

I think when you run something that’s yours, everything feels a bit more personal. The wins feel bigger, but the doubts can feel louder toošŸ™ƒ

Over time, you learn to trust yourself more. To stand by your decisions. To keep going even when things feel a bit uncomfortable.

And I think that’s where the thicker skin comes from!šŸ«¶šŸ»

I think there’s a bit of pressure in this industry to promise growth.

And while growth is great, it’s not always the most helpful thing to focus on. Especially for small local businesses, where the RIGHT people matter more than just MORE people… (read that again!!šŸ‘€)

I’d much rather focus on helping you show up clearly. Making your content reflect your business properly. Helping you explain what you do, who you help, and why someone should choose you.

Because when that part feels right, everything else tends to follow🄰

And social media stops feeling quite so overwhelming!!

This is exactly how I support the small businesses I work with.

Things I never thought I’d say… but there are parts of my 9–5 I sometimes missšŸ‘€

Like walking out the door and properly switching off, the random mid-afternoon chats that somehow reset your mood, not having to make every decision on my own, knowing when the workday is actually done...

When you run your own business, everything kind of sits with you. The good days, the tougher ones, the decisions, the planning… it’s all yours!🫠 And sometimes I do think it would be nice to just switch off and leave it until tomorrow…?

But at the same time, I know my 9–5 wasn’t the life for me. I wanted more flexibility, more creativity, and something that actually felt like mine. Starting my business gave me that, and it’s still one of the proudest and most correct decisions I’ve made in my life🄰

I think both things can be true…I can miss parts of it sometimes, and still know I wouldn’t go back (like ever!!šŸ™ƒ)

I think a lot of people make content harder than it actually needs to bešŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

There’s this pressure to get it exactly right…

To sound professional (booooring!), to have a strategy behind everything (isn’t actually not always needed…), to only post when you have the perfect idea (just nošŸ™ƒ)

But most of the time, the content that connects is much simpler than that….

It’s the things you’d naturally say in conversation, the thoughts you nearly didn’t post and the ideas that feel obvious to you but helpful to someone else!!

Your content doesn’t need to sound like a strategy document, it literally just needs to sound like you🄰

I think consistency can feel quite overwhelming when you're running a business🫠

There’s this pressure to be constantly posting, constantly showing up, and constantly trying to keep up. But that’s not realistic when you’re also actually doing the work behind the business!

Real consistency usually looks much quieter than that…

It’s finding a rhythm that fits naturally into your week. Posting in a way that feels manageable. Showing up clearly when you do, without feeling like you have to be everywhere all the time!!! (because you really don’t!šŸ˜…)

When it starts to feel part of your routine, it becomes easier to stick to. And if you miss a week, it actually feels a bit strange not to have done it.

That’s the kind of consistency that tends to lastšŸ«¶šŸ»

If consistency is something you’re struggling with, feel free to DM me - I’m always happy to chat🄰
