Your content isn’t necessarily the problem. Your social media strategy might be.

If you’re a small business owner and you’re posting consistently but still wondering why your content isn’t reaching the right people, it might be time to look at the strategy behind what you’re posting.

Here are 4 signs your social media strategy might need a rethink:

✨ You’re posting just to post
✨ You don’t know exactly who you’re talking to
✨ Your content keeps changing direction
✨ You’re trying to sell before you’ve built trust

Good social media marketing isn’t about creating content for the sake of it.

It’s about knowing who you’re trying to reach, what they need from you, and what you want your content to achieve.

Your social media should have a purpose, whether that’s building brand awareness, growing your audience, generating enquiries, building trust or making sales.

If your small business social media currently feels like a constant cycle of “what do I post today?”, it might not be that you need more content ideas. You might need a clearer strategy.

Save this for your next content planning session and ask yourself: am I posting with a purpose?

Need help with your social media strategy or content? My DMs are always open. 🫶🫶

A little client love that means a lot…

There’s something particularly special about receiving feedback from a client, but even more so when someone within the business takes the time to publicly stand behind it.

This comment came from a co-owner of one of the businesses I work with.

Honestly, this is exactly what I want Digital Emily Victoria to be about.

Not just creating a few social media posts and calling it a day.

It’s about building a genuine working relationship with my clients, understanding their business, creating consistent social media content, and helping them build a stronger presence online.

As a social media manager for small businesses, I know that handing over your social media can feel like a big step. You’re trusting someone else to represent your business online.

So when a client tells me they feel supported, understood and confident in the work I’m doing, that means so much. 🥹

I’m incredibly grateful for the businesses who trust me with their social media and allow me to be part of their journey.

Good social media management is about more than content. It’s about trust, consistency and relationships.

If your business could use some extra support with social media marketing, content creation or managing your social media presence, feel free to send me a message.

TikTok has genuinely changed the way I look at social media opportunities. 👀

I’ve had multiple TikTok videos reach 1M+ views, and what’s interesting is that my TikTok isn’t even a traditional business account.

I share lifestyle content, new mum life, products I genuinely use, TikTok Shop and things I’m simply interested in.

And it’s taught me something important about social media marketing:

Your content doesn’t have to look the same on every platform.

As a social media manager, I’m always talking about the importance of having a strategy that actually fits your audience and your platform, and TikTok is a great example of this.

Instagram might be where you showcase your business and build your brand.

Facebook might be where you connect with your local community and potential customers.

TikTok might be where people discover you, your personality, your expertise or your products.

You don’t necessarily need to be everywhere. But as a small business owner, it’s worth considering whether there are opportunities you’re currently missing by only focusing on one platform.

You could use TikTok to:

• Build your personal brand
• Reach a new audience
• Share your expertise
• Promote your products or services
• Explore TikTok Shop
• Create new income opportunities
• Grow your business through social media

You don’t have to become an influencer. You don’t have to post every day. And you don’t have to completely change your business strategy.

But sometimes, trying something new is how you discover what works.

Which social media platform would you love to explore more?

A little client love 🥰

This review from one of my long term clients was left back in February. One of my favourite parts of social media management is building long-term relationships with businesses and becoming someone they can rely on to keep their online presence consistent.

It’s not always about overnight results.

It’s about showing up consistently, understanding the business, creating content with purpose and continuing to build that presence over time.

I’m so grateful to work with businesses who trust me with their social media and even more grateful when those relationships continue to grow.

If your business could use a little more consistency online, my DMs are always open. 🫶

A new chapter for me, both personally and professionally.

On 5th August, I became a mum to my beautiful baby boy, and suddenly my priorities, my routine and my idea of a “productive day” all changed overnight. 🥹

For the last couple of weeks, my days have looked a little different. Lots of newborn cuddles and absolutely no idea what day it is 😂

But slowly, I’m finding my way back into work too.

I’m learning that being ambitious doesn’t mean I have to rush back. I can grow my business, look after my baby and take things at a pace that works for us.

So for now, Digital Emily Victoria is running a little slower behind the scenes, keeping my current clients supported, content scheduled and everything ticking along.

And now I’m ready to slowly start opening up a few client spaces again.

So, if you’re looking for support with your social media, feel free to drop me a message and I’ll talk you through how I can help you!

New mum. Business owner. Still figuring it all out.

And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🥹💖

When a client takes the time to leave a review like this it genuinely means the world to me. This is exactly why I do what I do.

Emma came to me as a brand new business owner juggling a full time job alongside everything else, and watching her pages transform and hearing that people are commenting on how great they look is the best feeling.

Digital Emily has grown… 💖

On 5th August, our little team grew by one very special member. 🥹👶🏼

I’ve officially stepped into my new role as a mum, and for the next little while, I’m allowing myself some time to slow down, soak up the newborn cuddles and enjoy this incredibly special chapter.

But… I’m slowly finding my way back into work too.

For my current clients, it’s very much business as usual behind the scenes, content is being planned and scheduled, I’m checking in, keeping things organised and making sure your social media continues to stay consistent while I take things a little slower.

And for anyone who has been thinking about working with me, my client slots will be opening again towards the end of September.

It’s going to be a slightly different rhythm for Digital Emily Victoria for a little while, but I’m so excited to continue growing the business alongside growing my little family.

Here’s to a very exciting new chapter. ✨

I started Digital Emily in 2020 at just 19 years old, right in the middle of a pandemic

No clients. No guarantee. Just a genuine passion for social media and a belief that small businesses deserved better support online.

Six years later I’m still here, and honestly I love what I do more than ever.

I’ve worked with incredible business owners across Hampshire and the UK who just needed someone in their corner to help them show up online consistently.

If that sounds like you, I’d love to chat 🫶

Really proud of my latest project, building a website for one of my clients.

Check it out below!

One of the things I love most about working with long term clients is the trust that builds over time. Recently, one of my clients came to me with something a little different. They wanted a website. Website builds aren’t something I’m a ‘professional’ at however I’m always upfront in the ...
