ADC alleges APC plot to destabilise party amid political realignments

Solution..

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has sounded the alarm over what it describes as a renewed attempt by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilise the opposition party amid evolving political realignments.

In a statement shared on his official X account, the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, alleged that plans are underway to stage a protest in Abuja aimed at influencing ongoing legal and political disputes within the party.

According to Abdullahi, the development follows what he claimed was an earlier failed effort by APC-linked actors to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) into taking “illegal actions” against the ADC after the recent defection of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to the party.

He said: “After meeting a brick wall with INEC, they have now changed tactics, but the objectives remain the same.”

The ADC spokesperson further alleged that a protest scheduled for Thursday, April 2, in Abuja, is being sponsored by “a particularly notorious minister,” with the aim of creating public pressure on INEC.

He explained that the protest would allegedly involve individuals posing as aggrieved party members calling for the removal of David Mark from a leadership position.

“The plan is simple: a paid crowd, posturing as aggrieved party members, will take to the streets demanding ‘David Mark Must Go,’” Abdullahi claimed.

He argued that the move is intended to influence the electoral body into recognising an individual whom he said had already resigned and been expelled from the ADC.

Describing the situation as a broader political strategy, Abdullahi added: “The plan by the ruling APC government to hijack the leadership of the ADC is real. If anything, it has assumed a new level of desperation in the past few days.”

The spokesperson maintained that the ADC would remain law-abiding but would resist any attempt to undermine its structure through legal means.

He also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene if those allegedly involved are acting without his approval.

“If they are not acting on his orders, President Tinubu should rein in his enforcers before it is too late,” he said.

So far, there has been no official response from the APC or the Federal Government regarding the allegations.

Jos attack: Perpetrators must be brought to book – Miyetti Allah

Solution..

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has condemned the attack on residents of Jos, Plateau State, on Palm Sunday.

President of MACBAN, Baba Othman Ngelzarma, in an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, called on security agencies to act decisively to identify and arrest those behind the attack.

He said that the action against the perpetrators must include not only those directly responsible but also individuals inciting violence through reckless and inflammatory statements.

According to him, such actors worsen tensions and must be held accountable, noting that without addressing both the violence and the rhetoric that fuels it, the cycle will continue.

Recall that scores were killed and injured after heavily armed gunmen laid siege on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday.

Reacting, the MACBAN president said, “To start with, I have to condole with the families of the victims and the government of Plateau State over what happened on Sunday.

“That attack was so barbaric and condemnable by all ramifications. We condemn and do not support it.

“We call on the security agencies to act decisively and fish out the perpetrators of this act.”

Support Tinubu in 2027, presidency shifts to you in 2031 – Joe Igbokwe to Northern Nigeria

Solution..

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has urged the North to rally behind President Bola Tinubu to enable him complete his agenda within two terms.

Igbokwe argued that the prevailing political understanding since the aftermath of the June 12, 1993, crisis supports a rotational arrangement that would see power return to the North in 2031.

“Northern Nigeria should come out en mass to support PBAT to accomplish what he has set out to do in 8 years. In 2031 power will go back to the North based on the established political understanding after the June 12 1993 crisis. It makes sense,” he said.

He also alleged that the prevailing insecurity in parts of northern Nigeria is politically driven.

“Let me drop this here: The insecurity we are witnessing in Northern Nigeria is man made. It is political. It has been a strategy to create insecurity to win elections,” he stated.

Igbokwe warned that continued violence could have long-term consequences for affected communities.

“Continue to kill your people and one day you people will see nobody to kill. Ndi ara,” he added.

2027: INEC may not recognise ADC’s presidential candidate – Fani-Kayode

Solution..

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has claimed that the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, might not recognise the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, for next year’s election.

In a long tweet on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode claimed the politicians in the ADC are blowing “hot hair” and “granting meaningless interviews”.

He however warned them to “get their house in order” or they might suffer the greatest humiliation in the history of Nigerian politics.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “They can blow as much hot air, enlist as many big names, engage in as many photo ops, appear on all the television stations for their shallow and meaningless interviews and peddle as much fake news as they like but judging from their internal wranglings and warring factions it is getting clearer by the day that the ADC may not even be in a position to field an INEC-recognised presidential candidate in the next election.

“Supporting or joining ADC may ultimately end up being an exercise in futility for those that insist on treading that thorny path.

“I appeal to them to get their house in order, bury their differences and stop taking each other to court so that they can produce a legitimate candidate that is recognised by INEC who we can have the opportunity to beat the hell and nonsense out of in the 2027 presidential election.

“Winning will not be as much fun unless we give them a good hiding in the field of battle.

“Whichever way they should prepare for a mighty fall and the greatest humiliation in the history of Nigerian politics.”

Oyebanji sympathises with victims of Ikere fire disaster

Solution..

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has sympathised with the owner and occupants of a building located in Ikere Ekiti, Ikere Local Government Area, that was gutted down by fire during an evening inferno that occurred in the community on Tuesday.

Oyebanji appealed to the populace to heed the warnings and precautionary tips being dished out by government to bring a slump to recurrent cases of fire disaster capable of ravaging the property of the citizens.

The governor spoke in Ikere Ekiti, on Wednesday, while inspecting the 12-room bungalow belonging to 95-year-old Pa Matthew Jayeola, that was ravaged by fire at Oke Osun area of the community.

Oyebanji, represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, bemoaned how the building and the entire property therein, had been destroyed due to human laxity.

The governor warned the residents against cooking inside their rooms, saying civilisation must have prompted such practice , but insisted that it is still not proper and ideal.

Oyebanji saluted a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adeyemi Rufus Ojuawo, the Chairman of Ikere Local Government, Hon Olu Adamolekun, his counterpart in Ikere West LCDA, Hon Rufus Olorunfemi and State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), for collectively donated 20 bundles of iron sheets and 10 bags of cement to the victim to speedily begin the rebuilding process.

The governor promised to offer relief materials to the victims, saying his government places high premium value on the welfare of the populace, though, in a more positively impactful manner and not in this kind of avoidable circumstance.

“I want to appreciate God that no life lost. When there is life, there is hope. Life is the most important thing.

“But civilisation doesn’t mean that people should be cooking inside their rooms. I learnt the origin of this fire was from one of the rooms. That was the reason why the fire could not be stopped even with the intervention of the men of the fire services.

“This government has been preaching all the time that our people should take caution. We should be careful with some of these disasters that are consuming our buildings and other property. If we are careful and be cautious, we can easily avoid some of those occurrences.

“To us as a government, we are deeply saddened by this incident. We sympathise with those that were affected. God will heal your wounds”.

Speaking on the incident, the General Manager, Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency, Mr Oludare Asaolu, said the scenario was not only demoralizing, but traumatizing , saying he personally got across to the fire services men upon receiving distressed calls on Tuesday evening to rise and safe the situation.

Asaolu regretted that the occurrence was man- made and not natural, having been caused by negligence of a resident of the building, which brazenly negated the principle being preached by the governor that the people should take high precaution.

“This is a man made occurrence and not natural. We have been trying to sensitize our people to take precautions. We can’t continue to witness this kind of things . Mr. Governor is not interested in sympathising with people, but to prevent them from occurring.

“This is quite regrettable. The state government will continue to.imoress it on our people to take actions on some of our prevention tips. The government will not also abandon those who fell victims”.

The 95-year old Pa Matthew Kokunmo, while recounting his ordeal, said he was at Oke Osun area of Ikere Ekiti at dusk, when one of his grandchildren came to inform him that his house had been razed down.

The Nonagenarian added that he couldn’t really trace the source of the ravaging fire, but was happy that no life lost despite that all the property therein were consumed by the inferno.

“I am old, I am now 95 years. I appeal to the government to help me rebuild this building. I have suffered in my life and I don’t think I should spend the rest of my life suffering. I have been dislodged now with my family members and other tenants. This is not good for someone of my age.

“I appreciate the state government for sending two fire fighting trucks to help in quenching the fire and for its readiness to help me overcome this problem. I am grateful”.
