🔑🔑🔑How to increase the value of your home…
Ever wondered how to make your home worth more, be more attractive to potential purchasers and stand out from other properties? We put this to Lister Haigh’s own in-house architect, Marie Harris and she gave us some great ideas. Here’s the first…
🏡🏡🏡Open Plan Living🏡🏡🏡
When planning extensions and conversions often the key focus for the ground floor level is to create the perfect family space which incorporates the kitchen, dining and an informal living area ideally with free access to the garden.
Traditionally homes had a separation between the formal and informal living areas. Spaces were smaller with a separate heat source in each room. Larger properties had separate sides to the house where servants prepared meals, did the laundry and household tasks. Family life has seen many changes and our houses have needed to adapt whilst retaining their character and charm.
Creating an open space is a relatively simple task in the majority of properties. This can be achieved by making large openings in walls allowing light deeper into the space and incorporating circulation areas or extending with a linking space. Any structural works to a property require Building Regulation approval which is not difficult to gain with the correct approach and advice.
