The whole industry is going through a big transition. Many physios may have lost hours of working Many of you may be thinking to start their practice and become self-employed. I am home since March as our SNF is under lockdown. I still had to pay my bills and had to keep myself busy. Starting my practice was always my passion.
Now you all may be coming from different background and different expertise. You all know that there is a market for your service and if you can make a proper game plan, you don’t need to be employed for the rest of your life. You may not be sure if you should go with a franchise model or to go on your own.
Well, the franchise model is easy, and it comes with a hefty price. My friend in Dallas signed up for a franchise, and she paid $50,000, to begin with. I asked her why did she do that? She said to get a brand name. I don’t think any brand of PT is famous like Starbucks or Olive Garden that as you you open the store, people will start lining up for your services. She still has to pay the franchisor monthly $2-3000 even if not a single patient walks into her clinic. They can help you with marketing and website and other fancy looking stuff, but we all know that all don’t drive traffic to the clinic. All patients care is about results and nothing else.
Now, what is the other option? Well, it is actually very, very simple. All you need to do is register your company with your secretory of state office: Google sos (your state), i.e. SOS Texas. And the government website will open up.
