Within 4 hours of putting up the fresh new photos of this AirBnB property in Stanmore, it got its first booking.

Emerald Propery Group hired me to take some photos of this new property he manages.

Good visuals make a massive impact on whether someone will book or not.

It helps them envision themselves staying there and they start building the story in their minds. If they can see themselves staying there, then you are winning them over, which will potentially lead them to booking.

On the other hand, bad visuals can have the opposite effect, it could turn people away from even clicking into the property to have a look.

Have you ever noticed how generally people are always more happier when the sun is shining, and more miserable when its dreary outside.

Now apply that knowledge to photos of your property, think about how those photos are making the viewer feel subconsciously (btw this also applies to profile pictures, headshots and portraits)

In this business, it’s easy to get stuck in the day-to-day and forget why you fell in love with photography in the first place.

You build a service, get really good at it, and suddenly that’s the only work you’re known for.

Every couple of years, I have to consciously fall back in love with it again. Last time it was playing with lights and colour filters to create funky Power Portraits.

This time, I went back to basics. Just picked up a camera and went out to shoot.

When I started out, I used to photograph anything — even the most mundane stuff — and try to make it look interesting.

So I’ve grabbed a small point-and-shoot. Easier to carry (no excuse not to bring it), less of an investment than my usual gear, and a lot more stealthy for street photography.
