Today I was reminded again just how incredible Simon Hutchings at Visualise work is.

I recently introduced him to one of my new clients, and he’s been working on some brandscape concepts for them. This morning he presented his designs, and the reaction said it all. One of the clients simply said: “think you’ve totally nailed it there to be honest.”

It’s still under wraps while they mull over the options and Simon finesses the details, but I honestly can’t wait to share the finished work once it’s signed off.

As always, it’s such an inspiration to collaborate with someone so talented. Every time I see Simon take strategy and bring it to life visually, I’m reminded what a privilege it is to work alongside him.

My favourite days are filming days with the super talented Lauren Balneaves It never feels like work when we’re together. Yesterday we were at two locations filming with the team at Active Heating & Renewables showcasing their tailored heat pump installations and services. And I like to think we brought an extra level of fun to their day!

Who got the alert yesterday?
(I did, made my jump out of my skin!)

Some people got it, some didn’t, which brings me to the point... the whole system only works if the message actually reaches the audience.

Sound familiar? That’s marketing in a nutshell.

You can spend time crafting the perfect message, but if it isn’t landing in the right place, or isn’t being picked up by the people who need to hear it, then it’s not doing its job.

The difference is that hopefully the government won't actually have to use it properly. But you, as a business owner, get the opportunity to test, tweak, and improve until you know your message is getting through.

For me September always brings that “new season, new focus” energy, both personally and professionally. I think it's that old habit of the fancy new pencil case for a new school year, anyone else still smell that fresh new plastic smell?

But if you've hit September and you’re still trying to get more leads, or more clarity in what to do next… you don’t need more marketing fads.
You need a proper plan.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10am, Al Tepper and I are running a free 90-minute session that’s all about helping business owners finally get strategic and start generating leads on purpose.

No gimmicks. No fluff.

Just:
- A simple framework that shows you how to attract the right leads
- A free, ready-to-use marketing plan template
- Straight-talking strategy
- Live Q&A support

Live on Zoom and free to attend.

You’ll walk away with the last marketing plan you’ll ever need, and a clear path to attracting leads without guesswork.

See you there!

The start of a new season is the perfect excuse to pause, refocus, and reset.

Summer has flown by in a blur, between holidays, school breaks, and just keeping the wheels turning, but September always brings a fresh momentum for me.

If you’re a small business owner who’s fallen off the marketing wagon (or any other wagon, for that matter), it’s not too late to get back on track.

Here are 5 ways to reset your business this month with purpose:

1. Revisit your goals
What did you set out to achieve this year? Are you on track? Where can you double down to finish strong?

2. Review your online presence with your sales hat on
Instead of tinkering for the sake of it, ask: does your website and social media make it easy for people to buy from you?

3. Reconnect with your audience
Whether it’s a value-packed email, a behind-the-scenes video, or a simple post asking how they’re doing, start showing up again with consistency.

4. Plan content that drives action
Think about what your audience needs this season, and build your content around helping them take the next step, is that’s enquiring, booking, or buying?

5. Streamline, but don’t stall
Yes, tidy systems are helpful, but don’t let clearing your inbox become a full-time job. Simplify where needed so you can focus more time on visibility and sales.

September doesn’t need to be about getting ‘busy’ again. It can be focused and intentional.

Ready for a reset with me?

Work definitely doesn’t feel like work when it’s this much fun! I had a great day filming a client interview with Lauren Balneaves yesterday. We set ourselves up in the stunning Kutchenhaus High Wycombe, which gave us 3 locations in one! More to share from this project, keep an eye out…

Another Friday.
Another speaking event.
But this time I got to meet deadpool.

I love chatting to other business owners about all things social media.

I’m out tonight with some of the fellow business women from my networking group. Seriously happy Friday.

It was fantastic to be invited to present yesterday at David Butler's Business Growth Accelerator event. Hopefully I was able to share some useful advice/tips for the other local business owners in the room.

A great group of people to share the time with and I was able to pick up some key things from some of the other speakers too.

Yesterday I had the privilege of hosting the April Business Growth Accelerator Club event.

This month we had a focus on the marketing elements of business and the importance of showcasing your business to the right audience. I was honoured to be joined by industry experts Jon Salinger (Darcy-Salinger Consultancy), Sarah Church, (Sarah Ashley Marketing uk), Neville J. McKenzie (Asiabizstories), Nick Modha (Trustist) and Chloe Briggs (Fifteen Three Digital) each one was able to shed light on some of the key elements business owners should be focusing on.

It was a brilliant discussion and provided great insight. Thank you to everyone who attended and presented.

If you’re interested in knowing more about the monthly meetings just drop me a message. The next one is Tuesday 20 May 3pm-5pm, want to come along?

When a client takes the time to write something like this… wow. It’s honestly the biggest compliment I can receive.

Sharon from Desk Team is an absolute powerhouse, building a true community around their serviced offices, not just filling space but helping local businesses thrive. It’s been such a pleasure getting to know her and the Desk Team brand, and helping shape a marketing strategy that reflects their values, their vibe, and their vision.

Getting feedback like this reminds me why I do what I do.
