There are only 16 days left to have your say on the AI Growth Lab – Call for Evidence (closes 2 January).

Overall, I support the intent of the programme and welcome the UK taking AI seriously at a national level.

(We’ll be publishing our full response shortly.)

However, one initial concern stands out.

The term “Lab” implies a controlled, isolated environment something contained, observable, and reversible.

In reality, what’s being proposed involves deployment and testing in live, real-world settings, with direct impacts on organisations, services, and working people.

📉 Vacancies are falling — but don’t panic.

Our latest data suggests this isn’t an “AI is taking all the jobs” (although it might appear that way) it’s mostly a post-COVID correction.
Yes, AI is starting to reshape some sectors, but the story is far more nuanced.
