Many use Windows and have everything set up as they want it but, every now and again something goes wrong and one has to repair the system and as I recently found out, "system restore" does not always work.

There is a solution to never losing your operating systems whether you use Windows or Linux and is the perfect way to back up your entire systems. I have not used this on Mac OS but, linux commands work on Apple Mac.

What you will need is: a USB flash drive (at least 8 gig), download any Linux distro, Rufus (to create a bootable USB drive).

You do not have to install the Linux OS as you can use the system straight from the USB stick! All you need to do is boot from USB in Windows.

Once in your USB linux system, you will open the terminal which is the equivalent of powershell in windows. You will use the command "dd" which is short for Disk Duplicator or better known as Disk Destroyer.

This is how you will use it:
dd if=/dev/nvme0n1p3 of=/dev/sda2/windows_0212022.img conv=noerror,sync status=progress

We will be sharing tips and tricks on managing and using Linux systems and some tips for Windows systems as well but, mainly Linux as we do use Linux systems for everyday things and also tend not to use out the box systems but, prefer building and using Arch, Gentoo, LFS and BLFS systems (Linux From Scratch and Beyond Linux From Scratch).
