Something I worked on before summer but yet to share here...

Chapman Counselling is a fully qualified, person-centred counsellor working in Inverurie. Caroline at Chapman Counselling required branding prior to launching her practice. Immediately the tone of voice was clear, her practice is built on empathy, acceptance and respect. However, there was also the idea of a journey and this is what I focused on.

The colour palette is consistent with the local landscape but also the interior design at the practice. Equally the typography is considered - the fonts are widely available for commercial use but the decorative font has elements that echo the logomark. The logomark encapsulates the journey - it was designed to suggest depth and the idea of moving forward. And it’s two letter c’s.

It was a pleasure to work on this and I’m really pleased with the results. 🌿💚🤍

✴︎⋆ New Work - Picardy 5k ⋆✴︎

I run and I’m a leader with Jog Scotland Insch (JSI) and it was this club that got me into running almost 10 years ago. Prior to that I was fairly anti running. 🙅🏼‍♀️

JSI is very community oriented, I’ve met lots of friends through the club, I think almost everyone in the village has ran with us at some time or another. This year in partnership with the local leisure centre we’re arranging a fun day including our first 5km race. It’s called the Picardy 5k after the Picardy pictish stone that sits around two miles outside Insch but the route is through the village streets. To advertise the run, I decided to illustrate some local landmarks and in my usual style, I got carried away. Minimalism isn’t really my thing.

These are the highlights:
↬ The Picardy Stone including the actual Pictish symbols
↬ The clock reads the time of the race start because ✨details✨
↬ The runner is wearing a JSI t-shirt
↬ And most importantly there is a local cat called Kevin who appears all over the village; in the school, the co-op or slimming world classes. For local folk who know, Kevin had to make an appearance here too!!

The race is now open for entries at https://thistletiming.bbtiming.com/event/1270 should you fancy it.

I’m Lisa, a graphic designer working in my wee studio in Aberdeenshire. I'm a 2024 graduate of Gray's School of Art, where I earned a First Class Honours degree in Communication Design: Graphics. I was also the 2024 recipient of the Gray’s School of Art Principal’s Award for Design which was a such an amazing achievement after a chaotic four years.

I combine illustration and graphic design to craft playful and engaging visuals across diverse contexts, from branding and educational materials to entertainment projects. I'm equally passionate about tactile traditional print methods as well as the possibilities of digital software. I have a strong commitment to my community and I am motivated to grow and contribute to the local creative landscape.
