3 Ways To Combat āāBlank Paper Syndromeāā
Aaah! My first real postā¦
All my old school friends will see this, my mum will see thisā¦
To top if off, all those industry professionals Iāve been bulk-following all night will see thisā¦
I HAVE to write something compelling⦠Something valuable! Something, REVOLUTIONARYā¦
[67 Claude 93 Chat GPT prompts laterā¦]
Nothing.
If youāve ever been in this^ situation, you know it sucksā¦
Whether itās a āwriterās blockā, ācreativity fatigueā or just good old fashioned ābrain-fogā, weāve all been there.
Sometimes it would be nice if someone could just give us the answer, right?
WELL⦠I donāt have it.
(If I did, Iād be a millionaire - Not staying late at work to write a social post to my current audience of: zero peopleā¦)
But what I do have, is my top three tips to combat what I call āāBlank Paper Syndromeāā
Imitate, Iterate, Innovate
Donāt start with a blank page! Imitate (copy) someone elseās stuff. For example, a competitors best ad.
Now, Iterate from it and play around with their āārecipeāā a bit, move stuff about, add in best performing elements from your best ads.
Finally, innovate⦠Sit back, look at your Franken-Swipe and ask yourself āāis this any goodāā, āāhow can I make this awesomeāā.
The end result, something thatās not just new and awesome but also rooted from something that is proven to work.
AI
Yaaawn⦠I know, everyone is bleating on about AI like a mob of hyperactive sheep, but AI can be awesome. If itās not, youāre probably using it wrong (sorry).
Iām going to do separate posts about AI tools in the next couple of weeks. For now, have a go at pairing these two tools together:
A) Gemini Deep Research
B) Claude 3.7 Sonnet
Give up
Yup. Give up, go for a v**e, a coffee, an extended lunch. If your boss asks, tell them āāAron said itās fineāā.
Staring at a screen going around in circles wont work, my best ideas come from when I step away (Although, my best ever ideas were then immediately forgotten on the walk back to the laptopā¦)
If you have any other āāwhite paper syndromeāā tips and tricks, hit me up - Iād love to hear about them!
