Ray Kroc purchased McDonald's aged 52 when it was a small chain of burger restaurants. Originally a franchiser, he saw the business’ potential and decided to expand it.

Implementing high hygiene standards and a consistent menu, he knew that customers wanted a reliable and delicious burger every time.

Kroc’s hunch was correct; he expanded it to a worldwide conglomerate over the following decades, all the time allowing only single-store franchises to open, to allow him to keep control over standards.

However, what I find most inspiring about the man is his age. When so many of us attribute our 50s as a period of life when things start slowing down, he was just getting started.

For anyone who is unsure about whether or not they’re too old to pursue their dream, I point to Ray Kroc’s example.

The only person telling you it’s ‘too late’ is you.
