Hello! It's been a while since I've been here and you may have forgotten who I am!

I'm Tamara and I help people running small businesses who are starting out on Instagram or even those who have been here a while with training and planning content that you can produce in the time you have. Instagram as lots of you know, is a lot about trial and error but I can help guide you on your way and I love doing it! I could spend waaay to long talking about Instagram.

Other than hanging out on Insta a lot I have two kids and a dog - you will see Buddy the dog on here every now and then as he doesn't complain much and he's always good for a reel!

I'd love to hear about you or hear about something you love or hate about Instagram...

You can support a small business without spending any money. Swipe to find out how. We all know things are tight for some of us but we want to do our bit and support small businesses. Here are my top tips - all can be done whilst on your sofa in lockdown and at a safe social distance 💪

🌟Like and share their posts
🌟Comment on their posts and answer any questions they ask
🌟Watch their stories and respond to their polls
🌟Talk to your friends and colleagues about these businesses (on your next zoom call obvs)

See, I told you it was easy...now this Easter weekend, go and support some small businesses without spending a penny, from your sofa. This will also work in your favour with the Instagram algorithm, so a win win! We are stronger together so keep raising each other up and stay safe.

Why not start here and tell me about some businesses you love below who you have been supporting from your sofa👇

Revisiting another lovely interview - the . They currently have an amazing discount on their beautiful organic cotton bedding.

Here are some highlights - the main interview is over on my blog - link in bio!

Why did you start your business?
My husband and I launched this business at the end of 2018. We really missed our pre-child days of being able to stay away in luxury five star hotels, as we have limited childcare options. We set up Linen Quarter to recreate the decadence of a luxury 5 star hotel feel to bed linen in the home environment, at an affordable price. Many of us cannot afford the premium brands that charge £200+ for a duvet cover set, and we wanted to develop a less expensive alternative, without losing the quality. We also wanted to remain sensitive to the environment and buy products that are environmentally and socially responsible. Everyone has an environmental and social responsibility and everyone is becoming increasingly conscious of their environmental footprint and the impact their consumer choices have. This is why we only sell organic cotton.

I’ve just received a recent order of sheets which I bought with the stayathome60 code and the bedding is beautiful!

A big thank you to Sara for taking part, please support her business from your sofa by placing an order for yourself or a loved one - you might as well stay home with luxurious bedding, right? Tell me about other independent businesses you have been supporting from your sofa below👇

My interviews are BACK! Today is a but I will be bringing you some brand 🌟new ones too. Today we begin with the lovely Sarah and Emily from book club. They share more about how and why they started their business (full interview in my blog - link in bio). Given the current circumstances with so many children at home, a Parrot Street subscription could help - there is also a boredom buster available if you sign up to their mailing list.

What do you love about running your own independent business?

As a small independent business, receiving feedback from happy customers is definitely a highlight. It’s lovely to hear that we’ve enthused a child about a book that they might not otherwise have tried. Inspiring kids to love reading and encouraging families to spend quality time reading together is something we are passionate about, so hearing directly from our customers about the difference their Parrot Street subscription is making to their families is fantastic.

What is your favourite product or service and why?

What we offer is really very simple. It’s a book subscription and each month our subscribers receive a fabulous new book to keep, along with an activity pack we created that’s full of puzzles, facts, jokes, ideas for craft projects, recipes and more, all inspired by that month’s book. The packs are carefully curated to help young readers have fun while engaging more deeply with what they are reading, which we think is so important. We’re also very proud of the books we choose for subscribers - we work hard to search out titles and authors we don’t think our subscribers will have discovered already and all our book selections are perfect for both boys and girls.

Please continue to support your and tell me who you would like to see interviewed!

I’ve not managed to use this, what shall I do with it? I’ve already got another diary which I ❤️, does anyone want it? If you do, let me know in the comments and I’ll pick someone at random...that said I’m not sure anyone will want it given you’ve missed two months already 😂

I do have a diary by the way - this is was just one I didn’t use. Do you use a paper diary?

This graphic just blows my mind and I love it!❤️

This is every minute ⏰ of everyday this activity is taking place. That’s why it’s important to make your posts make an impact. Make sure you are talking to your ideal clients and once you are doing this well you can use paid social like Facebook Ads to get more of those clients talking to you.

What this infographic does show is that consumers love video 🎥 content. This is definitely something you should be considering if you don’t already use it.

Know who you are trying to reach as there is a lot of noise online, social media is not going anywhere so do your best to do it well. If you need help with this, let me know.

Which element of the chart surprised you most? It does have a US bias but I was surprised the number of emails that are sent every minute 📧😲

𝘈 𝘋 𝘐 𝘍 𝘍 𝘌 𝘙 𝘌 𝘕 𝘛 𝘗 𝘌 𝘙 𝘚 𝘗 𝘌 𝘊 𝘛 𝘐 𝘝 𝘌⁣

This week I went to have my nails done, the lady, who I had met before had just opened her business and had spent 𝘈 𝘓𝘖𝘛 of money on renting the space, getting her website done, having signage done and furnishing her shop. I was chatting to her about how she had found setting up her business, she said she had put a lot of effort in and had spent a lot of money to make it top end. I looked around and it just didn't feel top end to me despite her spending money on expensive furnishing (she was against anything ikea - despite having seen ikea furniture being made to look top end by people who know what they are doing). ⁣

It made me think, she is highly skilled in her area of expertise, just not in interiors. I imagine if she had given her budget to someone who knew what they were doing - she would have got a much more cohesive "top end" look. It made me realise that we all need to look at our businesses from a different perspective and get help from experts when we need it. Otherwise you end up throwing money at something and not using our budgets effectively (this is often done with Facebook Ads). So to help you look at your business from a different perspective here are some tips to help you look at your business on social media from a different perspective:⁣
👉Talk to your ideal customer as if they were in front of you⁣
👉Give your audience some useful tips ⁣
👉Review your posts from the perspective of a customer- do they make sense?⁣
👉Ensure you are posting a mixture of content which aren't just sales posts - add value to your clients⁣

Do you step out of your business and have you had any experience of using experts? Often an expert will be able to do what you are able to do but in a fraction of the time (or at least that is my experience thus far)! Tell me who your favourite experts are below👇⁣
