It’s been a busy few months at 7DOTS, and we’ve been out and about making things happen ➡️

From speaking at industry events to sharing insights with the next generation of talent, here’s what we’ve been up to:

🌟 Sam has been sharing his story far and wide—he spoke at a Network One Event about neurodiversity in the agency landscape, joined David Savage on Tech Talks to discuss 7DOTS journey, and recently took part in a Round Table discussion at the UK House of Lords with Lord Blunkett, focusing on the challenges medium-sized businesses face when scaling in the UK.

🎤 Missy has been busy inspiring the Kingston community, speaking at Kingston Business School, London, the Women in Business Forum at Kingston Chamber of Commerce, and Kingston and Merton EXPO24.

💻 We also had an amazing time at the BIMA Digital Day 2024 at Heathside School, where Missy, Elsie, Richard, and Ais worked on digital challenges with students. Big thanks to Microsoft, Burberryy, and RSPCA (England & Wales) for making it all happen!

Missy kicked off Careers Week at Kingston Business School, London, captivating a room full of eager future marketers. Missy shared her journey—from internships to her current role—offering valuable insights into how to navigate the fast-paced world of marketing and advertising. Her tips on adaptability, creativity, and leading with purpose left students really inspired.

Next up was the Women in Business Forum 2024 for Kingston Chamber of Commerce, where Missy led an engaging workshop on what inspires us and how it shapes our approach to business.

Missy is also set to speak at the upcoming Kingston and Merton EXPO24 on “How to Retain Your Clients.” In this session, she’ll discuss her proven strategies for transforming satisfied customers into loyal advocates. Her extensive experience in client experience will empower local businesses to strengthen their relationships and achieve sustainable growth.

Yesterday, we had a fantastic summer party at the gorgeous Hampton Court Palace Golf Club🏌

The afternoon was all about unwinding and enjoying the sunshine, which was just what we needed! It was even better with our families there, having a blast with the bouncy castle, putting green, and even some cheeky water pistol fights... 🏰⛳

A massive thank you to everyone involved in organising such a fantastic event - it was such a lovely way to celebrate together! 🥂

Every week, 7DOTS come together to feed our competitive spirits…

⚽ ️Mondays kick off with football action at Kingsmeadow home of the Chelsea Football Club Women. It's not just about scoring goals; it's about teamwork and a healthy dose of friendly rivalry.

🎾 On Tuesdays, you'll find us serving up some fierce competition on the courts at Canbury Tennis Courts. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just picking up a racket for the first time, there's always a whole lotta laughs.

🎱 And when we need to unwind and show off our skills, we head downstairs to The Hanger where our very own pool table resides for some ball potting. We’ve got a league with a winner each month receiving the highly regarded trophy.

🏃 Plus, we like to keep our bodies and minds sharp with a weekly run together. Don't worry, it's all by choice – promise!

🎲 Oh, then we also have a board game lunch, where we play a couple of modern, fun, inclusive games, co-ordinated by our resident Gamesmaster.

We like to think our team is a supportive community where we work hard, play harder, and grow together.

Recently, Ed Gossage had the incredible opportunity to share his journey and insights with the students at Kingston University.

One student commented that she found it fascinating to delve into Ed’s experiences starting a business and the idea that it's never too late to pivot careers. Exploring different paths is part of the journey!

Ed greatly enjoyed engaging with the students and discussing how our passions, and what drives us are crucial for personal and professional growth. Thank you to everyone who attended and to the organisers for making it happen. Here's to continuous learning and exploration!

Last week Sam found himself on the stage at the Chessington Business Expo - Visitor 2023 sharing his thoughts and insights about ‘How to grow, manage and enjoy your business’.

Speaking at events like these has become more frequent recently for Sam, and he really appreciated the opportunity to do so for the Kingston Chamber of Commerce.

A massive thanks to Kathryn from KAYAK PR and Monica Bradley from MB Associates for their incredible insights and, of course, to everyone who participated, asked questions, and contributed to discussions over the course of the event. And not forgetting Forbes Low who kindly hosted their discussion! Three topics that really stood out are:

1. Purpose: Discovering and embracing our personal and professional purpose is what propels us forward. It's the driving force behind our businesses and the positive impact we can make in the world. If you're not clear on your purpose, spend time exploring it.

2. Listening: Active listening is an art, and it's essential in leadership. It empowers us to make well-informed decisions, build meaningful relationships, and truly understand the needs of our teams and clients. The best place to start is by asking questions and seeking to understand rather than be understood.

3. Continuous Growth: The journey of leadership is an ever-evolving one. We must always be open to opportunities for growth and learning and never lose sight of our commitment to becoming better leaders every day. Be the change you want to see in the world.

Last night, Ed and Baxter had the pleasure of attending the Hollyfield School Careers Fair📚

They came away so excited to see all the talented and passionate students at Hollyfield, and had a fantastic time talking to them about their dreams and aspirations. The future is certainly looking bright with such a motivated and enthusiastic group of young people.

In June ‘23, 7DOTS hit a major milestone - our payroll number ticked into the 50s. But here's the real triumph: nearly 40 of them are still with us, a remarkable staff turnover for a company founded in 2009.
