Here is my honest take after spending a day testing it (and secretly hoping that it would give me the inside track on Instagram growth!)
As a small business owner who supports other small business owners with marketing, I was excited to test out Meta AI for content creation.
WHAT IT DOES WELL
✅ Hashtag research. It knows which tags are overused and which ones could get your account restricted. That is genuinely useful.
(But remember, hashtags are now for categorisation, not reach)
✅ SEO keywords for Instagram. Solid.
✅ Profile analysis - Give it your handle and it can actually look at your account. Other AI tools need you to copy and paste everything manually. This one skips that step.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR:
⚠️It gave me a list of rules and presented them as facts. When I pushed back and asked where they came from, the sources were mixed. Some were confirmed by Instagram’s own head. Some came from third party research. And one came from Reddit!!
But it had presented all of them exactly the same way - as factually accurate.
⚠️ Six times in one session it said it had got something wrong…but only AFTER I challenged it. Which means if I didn’t know better I could have made some serious mistakes. This does not mean you should avoid it. It means you should use it differently.
Ask it to source every piece of advice it gives you. If it cannot point to something Meta has actually said, treat it as a pattern. Not a rule.
REMEMBER:
No AI tool has the inside track on the Instagram algorithm. Not Meta AI. Not Claude. Not any of them. Anyone or any tool that tells you otherwise is guessing.
If you are building a business and want the honest picture on what AI can and can’t actually do for your marketing, follow.
