It’s been ages since I’ve taken myself out on a date!
But as it’s my final week off of the summer, yesterday, I jumped in my brum, and headed off to explore the cathedral city of Chichester, the only city in West Sussex.
Chichester’s focal point is its 950 year old cathedral. I made that my starting point, before having a wander around Bishop’s Palace Gardens.
The city is much less commercial than Eastbourne and Brighton, my 2 nearest shopping towns, but for me, that added to its charm.
I had lovely chats with the ladies who were running The Sussex Bookshop and Flapjackery and can’t wait to go back to visit both shops closer to Christmas (sorry…I know we’re still in August…it just kinda keeps slipping out 🤣🙈).
From Chichester, I then drove to West Wittering Beach, one of Sussex’s few sandy beaches! It cost me a kidney to park, but it was super worth it, with its chilled vibe and sandy dunes. It was a shame the tide was out, otherwise I may’ve been tempted to have a dip! I’ll definitely be heading back there again, I may just have to find somewhere further away from the beach to park!
Before i knew it, the sun was starting to fade, and my solo date had come to an end. With a lovely sunset drive back down the A27, it was the perfect way to end the day.
