🎇🎆BONFIRE BEST DRESSED WINDOW COMPETITION!🎇🎆

A month ago I went round the shops to tell them about this competition and left a leaflet giving more details, but here it is again...

From Monday 26th October* we would love for all shops and businesses to dress their windows to celebrate BONFIRE!

THE WINDOWS WILL BE JUDGED BY THE MAYOR ON MONDAY 2ND NOVEMBER.

You don't have to be directly on the high street.

The Winner and two Runners Up will be announced live during the Bonfire Broadcast by Rocket F.M. (presented by Alex Leith and Helen Browning-Smith of “Lewes The Podcast”) on the 5th.

The Winner will be invited to appear on Lewes the Podcast at a later date to talk about their business. They will also receive a Certificate presented by the Mayor.

The Winners and Runners Up will have articles written about their businesses which will appear in local press and media.

(The form simply asks for your shop name and email address if we need to contact you direct.)

* We are doing this starting a week before because obviously many windows get boarded up in the day or so before the 5th.

TIP FOR RETAILERS: PHOTOS OF YOUR SHOP FRONT

If you have a website and/or your social media, make sure you have an up to date photo of your shop front/premises, it really will make it easier for people to find you.

I see lots of websites and social media posts with pictures of the products stocked by the shop, which of course is important but those items won't sell if the customer can't find the shop because they don't know what it looks like.

Believe it or not not all shops are so obvious and could be walked past by potential customers.

Having a photo of your shop front means you are more likely to be spotted by those who are coming to your shop after researching you online.

And if you are situated within another building, make sure you include a photo of the outside of THAT building as well.

Sometimes two shops are just perfect next to each other...

With these two shops (both L.T.G. members) on Western Road you have everything you need for a wonderful dinner:
