Tearing up the script. Not because it was s**t. Because it gave me a paper cut. Plus, September. Ya know?

Well, it’s m’birthday. Celebrations started on Saturday at the Crazy Bear. Why have a party when you can celebrate with your faves individually, while donning all the garb bought throughout the year but not yet worn? What’ll it be tonight? Been offline for a while… plotting. Back in full force soon. (?) 😉

Easter weekend. The fam bam, journeyed from near and far. Easter bunny came and left footprints, little ones nailed the hunt, 20 eggs each. Currently three hours into a food coma. Full sentences too much effort. All good clean fun.

Moroccan cookery school. This was over 7 years ago. I bought that dress (in 5 colours) from a souk and still wear it today. But I couldn’t make a tagine if you paid me.

What a week. Far from living my best life. For the last 5 days, words took a back seat to numbers and I learned a valuable business lesson.

Do NOT leave all of your company accounting until the very last minute, especially if banking ain’t your bag.

I started out with the best intentions - Finance Fridays - just enter relevant transactions, client payments, send invoices, set aside the ‘worst case scenario’ figure in preparation for the inevitable tax bill - do this once each week and keep on top of it. Simple. And the alliteration makes it fool-proof (I mean, it works a dream on Marketing Mondays.)

Confession time - I stopped doing that in September 2020! There’s just always been something more ‘pressing’ to do. And by ‘pressing’ I mean fun and rewarding.
Never again.

This week I’ve spent over 5 hours on the phone to my accountants, 30 hours in excel and Crunch (my accountancy software), reconciled literally hundreds of expenses (how do I know which Amazon orders were work related over a year beyond the event?)

What comes naturally to some is wildly problematic for others. I like to think I can do hard things but this week has been both humbling and just boring as s**t.

Anyway, I finally got through it and live to tell the tale. But I’ll say it once more - NEVER AGAIN.

My Story

I’m Keeley, and I’m a storyteller by both craft and nature. That’s how KW Comms came about; I offer bespoke marketing services that capture the minds of those that need you most.

I turn words into numbers by creating narratives that sell, ensuring you reach your business goals. Telling a good story doesn’t come easy to everyone. Besides being a lifelong lover of literature and creative writing, spending ten years as a journalist on Fleet Street and writing for 80% of National newspapers taught me that there are a hundred ways to tell the same tale - but only one that will resonate with your target audience.

Now, I am thriving in an industry that is committed to growth, and applying my passion for creating narratives that help brands captivate their audience and build their own unique image.

My wealth of experience reflects all the things I love. From pioneering editorial initiatives for fast-growing startups, heading up creative strategies for global brands ranging from lifestyle to tech, to working one-on-one to bring people’s personal projects from conception through to fruition, I’m so lucky to say - I adore my job.
