If you don’t know what SEO is, it stands for search engine optimisation so basically it is what we do to make Google show your website in search results to people looking for businesses just like yours!

😍 I love doing SEO because it is a measurable challenge, if what I am doing is not working then the website won’t come up in the search results, it is as simple as that.

💷I love helping other businesses grow and SEO has such a great return on investment because once you get up there, you see the results for months, even years WITHOUT having to spend on ads or post on socials.

🎯Imagine if every time a customer searched for your business, you were the first business they found! It helps increase your conversions because they already trust you - how many times have you said “let me google that”, people always think that if it’s on Google it can be trusted.

SEO is really important for your website and a lot of designers don't consider the impacts a design will have on your SEO. This often means that later on, when you want to start attracting more customers, you may even need drastic changes to your website to get it to work efficiently. 😫

When I do SEO audits, the biggest problem I find with my client's websites is that they are often built on Squarespace or Wix. These platforms are ok if you are building your website yourself but because the platforms are built to make it easy for you to do yourself, they also include huge amounts of third-party code, excess JS and HTML which makes your website slower and less Google-friendly.
Don't get me wrong, I have managed to get Squarespace websites into the top 10% of websites in the world for SEO but it takes major work and is not cheap to do.

I have only mentioned a few things in this post. I will do a video on the best ways to optimise your SEO and what I mean by each thing mentioned. Make sure you are following me to watch videos and content on SEO & websites.

This website was an honour to work on. My amazing boy Tj passed away the day after I started making it. He was the most incredible dog. I used to speak to him like a human and he always understood. My soul dog ❤️

Spandow house is a dog rescue centre but unlike many other shelters they keep the dogs there until they are adopted and if they never get adopted then they stay forever!
Since seeing the video of Marshall and Millions, I’ve felt so sad that there are so many misunderstood dogs that end up in the wrong place at the wrong time but knowing that there is a place that will take on dogs that are seemingly “dangerous” and unwanted and won’t give up on them means the world to me.

It’s wonderful to know that the dogs at Spandow house will be so loved just as my little boy was and that there is hope for sweet dogs like millions and marshall who could have just been sent to somewhere like Spandow house!

Loved creating this website for Bristol based Caricature artist and graphic designer, Tong.

Tong is a startup company but as a startup they had to keep costs down until they had more profit to reinvest in marketing.

We had a consultation to find out more about their offerings and business goals.

They needed a website so that they can have a place to direct customers to either book their services and buy products.

This applies to your website and social media. The majority of people absorb information visually and if you make these mistakes then information you are trying to tell your audience will be lost.

3 simple things can make a huge impact of the actions customers take on your website and socials:

1. Too many fonts

Keep your brand consistent across your website. You can have up to 3 different fonts for captions, buttons, headings and paragraphs. but any more and it becomes distracting and looks messy.

2. No white space

Having 50-100px padding around each section of your website makes it so much easier to read and digest. Make sure it’s not too cluttered.

3. Bad Alignment

You should always align your content to the left because this is the first section that catches the eye. If alignment is off it can make your website look unprofessional and audiences can be put off.

On July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics will no longer process data. Instead Google Analytics 4 (GA4) will be used.

GA4 is a flexible event-based model that allow you to see unified user journeys across your website and apps.
Cookies are a thing of the past! (Don't you just hate it when cookie pop-ups appear?) GA4 no longer relies exclusively on cookies so you can learn about customers even with data gaps.
