AI isn’t reshaping work by replacing people. It’s changing who gets to act independently. For mid-career professionals, it quietly restores the value of experience, judgment, and clear thinking. Used as a co-pilot rather than a crutch, it reduces cognitive overload, helps codify hard-won insight, and makes fractional work and side income viable without dramatic exits. The real risk isn’t redundancy, but outsourcing your own thinking.

For years, I carried an image in my mind that I rarely articulated: a mountain I wanted to climb but feared I did not have the preparation for. I circled it endlessly, searching for an easier ascent. I tried smaller hills, adjacent paths, work that resembled the mountain path but did not require its commitment. Each detour felt safer than the direct route, but none delivered me any closer to the view I secretly longed for.

I do not mean to suggest that AI built the path for me; it did not. What it offered was something subtler and more transformative: the removal of unnecessary friction. A sense of intellectual companionship. The feeling—surprising, then liberating—that I no longer had to face the ascent alone. New essay is out - link in bio.

Measurement of greatness is subjective. There is no hard metric.

Instead of focusing on what making this will bring you, focus on creating value with whatever you’re doing.

Make it the best you can with no limitations.
