Opinions about the symbolism of the dragon vary greatly depending on whether the country is Eastern or Western. In the East, dragons are treated very respectfully, considering it a symbol of happiness and everything auspicious. In Japan and China, this creature is associated with prosperity, fertility and great luck. In European countries, especially in the Middle Ages, the dragon is a symbol of chaos, terror and hatred. Christian culture sees in it death, darkness and sins.
