It is highly improbable for ChatGPT or any other AI-powered chatbot to supplant Google or any other search engine, primarily because search engines employ intricate algorithms to crawl, index, and rank billions of web pages, thereby furnishing users with highly pertinent search results instantaneously. Unlike search engines, ChatGPT necessitates extensive training on massive amounts of data before it can deliver answers, thereby ruling out real-time learning and answering capabilities. Consequently, the outcomes produced by these AI chatbots may not be exhaustive and precise.
Furthermore, the concise answers generated by ChatGPT do not offer any additional exploration choices to the user. On the other hand, Google search is almost real-time, offering the latest, precise, comprehensive, and relevant search results, while endowing the user with full control over the exploration process.
Therefore, although AI can undoubtedly enhance search capabilities, search engines will continue to serve as the fundamental underpinning of information discovery on the internet.
