A meaningful project update.

I recently updated the Stalking Response Guide for the Auckland Women's Centre, helping make this important resource easier to navigate, access and use, after designing the first edition last year.

The timing feels especially significant, with stalking and harassment officially becoming a standalone criminal offence in New Zealand from 26 May. For many years, advocates, victim-survivors and organisations have pushed for stronger recognition of stalking and its impacts.

The guide, created by the Aotearoa Free From Stalking team, provides practical information, support pathways and safety resources for people experiencing stalking, harassment or coercive control, including a easy to navigate map that will point victims in the right direction for relevant information with links to sections in the document.

Design can’t solve these issues, but it can help people find information, support and next steps when they need it most.

A hop skip and a jump onto the logo archive trend, albeit a smidge late. Logos, logotypes and marks from my 11 years in business, some oldddd as but still hold up (phew) and others more recent.

I’ve enjoyed going down memory lane as well as checking out other designers who have hopped on the trend. It’s nice to see so much creativity out there for the humble logo and the diversity.

Here is your weekly Bee Happy post 🐝 Meet Brando.

Head down. Shoulders hunched. Absolutely barrelling off like he’s just burst out of his performance review and bee told to “circle back on that” one too many times.

There’s a definite edge here. A quiet (or not so quiet) “I will burn it all down” energy simmering under the surface and honestly… fair.

Some days it’s frustration, grit, and getting through it with a clenched jaw and a very strong internal monologue. Though he would quite like to dramatically quit mid-air, and tell Barb to p**s off, he’s still going.

Here is your weekly Bee Happy post 🐝

Introducing Bernice and Bridget. Bernice is locked in. Head down, fully committed, absolutely carrying the workload like the legend she is.

And then there’s Bridget. Hovering. Chatty. Just popping in with a “quick question” that is never actually quick. Big “have you got a minute?” energy while Bernice is clearly in the zone.

We’ve all been Bernice. We’ve all worked with a Bridget. Which one are you?
A gentle reminder from the flower floor: Protect your focus like Bernice and if you are Bridget, read the room and maybe circle back later.

Bernice will get it done. She always does.

Here is your weekly Bee Happy post 🐝 Meet Bazza.

Bazza is absolutely knackered. He’s having a quiet moment mid-snack like he’s just remembered everything he’s got on this week… and decided he’ll deal with it in five minutes.

He’s not lazy, he’s pausing, regrouping, gathering his thoughts on a very comfortable dahlia.

A lesson from Bazza, not every moment needs to be productive.

Not every pause needs to be earned. Take a leaf out of Bazza’s book and rest your legs, reset your head, and then carry on when you’re ready.
