I can’t fault this living room. Seeing a room like this as a photographer gives me endorphins like you wouldn’t believe. And freshly picked hydrangeas by my client? Absolute jackpot of a shoot. Cosy spots and a beautifully toned space, what more do you need? A fun fact to the home - each painting denotes the tones the rooms are, and were heavily involved in paint and furnishings choice. Like I said, jackpot shoot.

To the woman who made me who I am, to my teacher, my best friend, my biggest supporter, and my greatest loss. I am fully aware my account will tank after this post. But if you can’t give your own mother a space on the grid then are you even human?

Tomorrow is your funeral, or as I’m planning it…a musical concert just for you. I can’t quite believe it’s all real. I hope you feel no pain where you are, are able to run, walk and play your violin again.

As for me, I’m just trying to navigate my new life, with this huge void and space you’ve left behind. I hope that I can continue to make you proud, to keep strong and to carry on doing the job I love, just like you did with yours. Just bear with me guys. It’s the first time in my life I haven’t replied to people straight away, I need at least 24 hours to work out how I even feel at the moment.

Until we meet again, rest in peace my beautiful, brave mummy Malonda xx (and F you cancer)
