Anti-ageing is a dead language. The data says so. 📊

YouGov’s 2026 UK Anti-Ageing Report just landed. Brits are the least engaged anti-ageing market globally. Only 6% actively try to slow ageing.

But the category is one of the fastest-growing segments in beauty. The contradiction tells you everything. The category is growing on a third of the audience. The language is alienating the rest.

The fix is not better creative. It is better segmentation.

Preventers (34%) want performance press: search, social, ingredient stories, protocols.

Maintainers (29%) want slow-build credibility: dermatologist endorsement, editorial features, peer-reviewed claims.

Indifferents (34%) are not lost. They are speaking a different vocabulary entirely.

Mintel has already shifted to longevity and systems biology of skin ageing. The press has followed. Most beauty brands are still writing PR in the legacy register.
