I am excited to share with you my typographic title design work from the 2024 Short-Film, Logos 👀😁

Different to my previous title projects, Logos was the first official title I made that included a Layer Mask.

Utilising the incredibly sharp BTS works of the project, I was able to visually construct a narrative for my title that expressed coherent themes of dystopia/post-apocalyptic futurism. 🌎🤖

Without ever having watched the film, the BTS alone informed my outcomes, inspired by similar existing post-apocalyptic worlds as seen in Fallout, RAGE, and Borderlands. The Old English title that is used in this post was a comparison of how various typefaces can translate onto media that may be of juxtaposing content.

I would not typically associate calligraphic writings with futurism, however, this direction was of curiosity to me – therefore, this post includes an assortment of the two variations. Logos was my first title design that required me to think less about external typographic displays, and more about how I could make a title appear icy, barren and clinical.

Using various backgrounds, textures and objects (all taken from the original BTS photographs) if you look closely at some of the titles, you can make out these environments within the lettering of the designs. This warping of imagery captures snippets of reality in a dream state, donating itself to Logos the Greek term - which refers to a spiritual principle that permeates reality.

I was able to construct an array of calligraphic/futuristic titles that blended with the films promotional materials well.

I really enjoyed producing the title for this project! It was different to my usual methods of designing, but a great opportunity nevertheless! 🙌🏻❤️

🔘 Brief Name | Art in Motion
📍Brief by: London Art Fair & XPENG UK

In response to the London Art Fair/XPENG UK ‘Art in Motion’ competition brief, I produced an outcome that exhibits innovation in motion, through a seamless process that blends concept into reality. 🌍

As demonstrated, the right side of the composition depicts a technical blueprint, that represents the engineered hardware used to conceptualise the vehicle. This blueprint can be tracked from a gradual transition into a fully rendered illustration, encapsulating movement, turning an idea into manufactured reality. 🚗

Using concepts of space-time physics and gravity, the blueprint grid bends into reality, indicating how innovation is an idea pulled forward into existence. This transformational design actively takes viewers through the vehicles journey of technological evolution, pairing XPENG systems with human experience.

Alongside these immersive attributes, I digitally traced the original XPENG logo, subtly injecting it throughout the composition. Acting as a visual pulse, these motif interpretations appear within wheel patterns and background structures, encouraging viewers to discover more within the product, reinforcing the brands’ identity and precision.

Sequentially, these interpretations were also used to reveal profound scientific metaphors of movement.

For example, the series of directional arrows in the background mimic the Blueshift/Redshift phenomenon in physics; whereby light alters depending on an object’s movement, relative to an observer. Blue arrows behind the vehicle, simulate headlights moving toward the viewer. Whilst the Red arrows traverse over another. Imitating both the distant glare of fading taillights and the airflow of the G6 model, seen cutting through the field of motion.

To conclude, this multi-layered design applies a reddish-yellow colour scheme to reference the vehicles Chinese heritage, as it strives toward innovation, translated through motion. This brief was incredibly stimulating to work on and I look forward to seeing the winning outcome next month.

Many Thanks,

🎬 Proof of Concept (POC)

For the first time since its production in 2024, I am excited to finally share with you my design works for the Short-Film, Blue Dust 🧬

A project that enabled me to utilise my skills in modular type and stencilling, rather than what I was used to - constructing titles behind a laptop screen 💻

Although this title design was inspired by the films actual environment and set designs, producing an entire film title from Table Salt was not how I expected to start this project, however, its practicality was imperative.

I was exploring ways to replicate medicinal drug features - one that was less-powdered, but more grainy - without using recreational/illegal substances 💊 This improvised, practical process of the titles inception, had me fascinated with vibration, frequencies and the unpredictability of movement.

I used Salt grains to investigate this further, attempting to produce cymatic deigns, whereby the salt grains would react to vibration, producing geometric patterns - acting as if millions of neurons in the brain reacting to a drug - similar to a Rorschach ink blot tests.

This cause and effect notion that inspired me to communicate a visual chemistry ⚛️ capturing an imbalance, reflecting the cognitive misfires of the protagonist and his scattered morality throughout the film.

I really enjoyed producing this title and look forward to working on future collaborations with the Bolts Films team again! ❤️ Thank you for the opportunity! 🙌🏻

🐢 Lidiyart® | Official Logotype & Logomark 🐢

Building the official Logotype & Logomark for the bespoke decorative and illustrative brand Lidiyart®, was a meticulous project, that both challenged and elevated my previous design knowledge and skillset.

Our brief was to translate a two-dimensional drawing into a digital logo design. What may initially be assumed as a clear cut, ‘copy and paste’ task, actually involved the thorough dissection and reassembling of the intricate sketch, that was imported and vectorised.

Digitally tracing over the hand drawn piece, required an ability to erase multiple minor deformities and through rigorous design architecture, the reconstruction of these components resulted in the original illustration, transforming into a polished hallmark of iconography.

Retaining the integrity and aesthetic of this original piece was the main priority. Inspired by the Penguin Random House Logo - I was looking to capture a similar bearing of nostalgia and whimsy through the adaptation of the Tortoise logo, whilst visually communicating the Lidiyart values and ethos.

The TRADITIONALISM in their process. The PATIENCE in their work labour. Alongside the brands ANTIQUITY, KNOWLEDGE and LONGEVITY.

Collaborating with Lidiyart® on this project was a fresh new opportunity in producing a logo that has the potential to be translated and scaled onto a range of illustrative, decorative, and bespoke products.

Looking forward to future collaborations and opportunities with you!

It is a great pleasure for me to share with you, my design components produced for the dual award-winning 2023 Short-Film; The Myth.

Being my first official design project in Film Production - I found this task to be one that fulfilled my ability to capture a films. personality - character arcs, narrative/themes - through colour schemes, typographic designs and promotional materials.

Using only BTS shots (taken by the crew) and various notes made and shared by myself and the Director/Producer, this project enhanced my ability to visually communicate a story - whilst building a professional rapport with my associates.

These initial designs used full bleed visuals - taken from original BTS shots - to see how my typographic elements for the title complimented the colourists video-graphic/ photographic edits. This was to ensure a harmonisation in the visual telling of this story.

Directed by the perceptive .print and Produced by the conscientious

The Myth tells the age old tale of Medusa, whose story is adapted around a contemporary narrative that explores themes of betrayal and trauma.
