Today is a very special day for us — Sweet Moments by Anto has officially opened its lovely coffee van at New Beckenham station!

We’re so excited to welcome our customers and share our love for great coffee with the local community. To say a big thank you and give you a warm welcome, today only we’re offering any type of coffee for just £2 🎉

🌳🍎 The Penge Wassail Returns! 🍎🌳

Friends of Alexandra Recreation Ground are delighted to invite you to the Second Annual Penge Wassail, a joyful community celebration of the season ahead.

Join us alongside Southey Brewing Co
for a wondrous hour of tradition, featuring song, poetry, and morris dancers, as we gather in the orchard to wake the trees and wish for a bountiful harvest.

☔🎶 Wrap up warm! Bring your wellies and raincoats, and help us make plenty of noise to rouse the orchard from its winter slumber.
🔔🥄 Raid your kitchen cupboards for anything noisy – pots, pans, spoons – and come ready to be as loud as you can!

I feel like it’s been kinder to my face than reality 😂

Update: it’s definitely new! Great work 👏 and Alan Pottinger tells me that the Green Man is “a symbol of the cycle of nature and rebirth. Before 1827 Anerley was almost entirely oak woodland.” Amazing! 💚

Spotted this on my walk - is it new or am I unobservant?! It’s lovely to see 💕

I guess it’s a nod to the Vicar’s Oak at the top of the hill 🍃

Nice to see Anerley getting more of a distinct identity after years of being overlooked!
