Bright Ivy

Bright Ivy Creative and innovative artist management and marketing agency based in the UK

Bright Ivy was founded in 2014 by Joel Garthwaite to provide creative and innovative artist management to classical and contemporary musicians, and composers. In 2015, Bright Ivy merged with Fourfortytwo Ltd., a chamber music agency founded by Philip Venables in 2010. Since the incorporation of Fourfortytwo, Joel and Philip head up Bright Ivy to focus on bespoke artist management, with a special focus on chamber ensembles and composers.

From its conception, Bright Ivy has set out to work with artists at all stages in their careers, and focus particularly on visual impact and online presence. In todays Internet world, we recognise that to be successful, artists must have technology at their disposal, from disseminating information about their performances, to stunning visual identities, to streamlined concert management. On the design side, Bright Ivy is proud to work with the design studio Uncanny Editions. Having our design and our PR services in-house sets Bright Ivy apart from other management companies, and helps us redefine how an artist management company should operate. Joel sums it up:
"I wanted to make Bright Ivy a truly inclusive artist management provider. Of course Bright Ivy will handle the usual things musicians expect and need from representation, allowing them to concentrate on the artistic side of their work rather than administration, but I also wanted to create an environment for artists to talk creatively to us about their work, brainstorm ideas and problem solve issues."

Our Story

From its conception, Bright Ivy has set out to work with artists at all stages in their careers, and focus particularly on visual impact and online presence. In todays Internet world, we recognise that to be successful, artists must have technology at their disposal, from disseminating information about their performances, to stunning visual identities, to streamlined concert management. On the design side, Bright Ivy is proud to work with the research & design studio Shared Institute. Having our design and our PR services in-house sets Bright Ivy apart from other management companies, and helps us redefine how an artist management company should operate. Joel sums it up: "I wanted to make Bright Ivy a truly inclusive artist management provider. Of course Bright Ivy will handle the usual things musicians expect and need from representation, allowing them to concentrate on the artistic side of their work rather than administration, but I also wanted to create an environment for artists to talk creatively to us about their work, brainstorm ideas and problem solve issues."
