This year, we’re proud to celebrate 40 years of manufacturing in the UK, a milestone made possible by the dedication, expertise and innovation of our Associates.

Over the past four decades, our Wigan facility has evolved alongside the industry, continuously investing in people, processes and technology while remaining committed to producing high-quality flooring solutions for customers across the region.

From university project to installation in the BBC's new headquarters.

Today, we welcomed students from Birmingham City University's BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design course to our Wigan manufacturing facility to see their winning carpet tile designs brought to life.

The students' collection was selected as the winning concept in the BBC × Milliken live project, developed in collaboration with Sheppard Robson.

Inspired by the theme of vibration and Birmingham's rich industrial heritage, the designs reflect the BBC's legacy of sound, culture and connection.

Through site visits, sound recordings, research and material experimentation, the project evolved from concept to reality, with the winning designs set to be featured in the BBC's new headquarters in Digbeth, Birmingham, in the coming months.

This has been an incredible journey of collaboration, bringing together the creativity of emerging designers with the expertise of Sheppard Robson, the BBC and the Milliken design team.

Seeing the students visit the manufacturing facility and experience the process behind transforming an idea into a finished product was a fitting milestone in a project that celebrates creativity, innovation and the power of design partnerships.

Our team will be there to share how thoughtful design, materials and spaces can support health, wellbeing and human experience. We're also delighted that Kate Burnett will be speaking as part of the event programme at 4.20pm - 'Investing in Health Pays Back'.

We were delighted to host Perkins & Will's annual Away Day in the Milliken London showroom, where colleagues transformed Clerkenwell into The Foresee Festival - a creative, future-focused exploration of what our industry could look like in 2032.

Through workshops, discussions and collaborative activities, teams explored some of the biggest questions facing the design industry:

What will clients need and expect from us?
▪ How can we build agile, future-ready teams?
▪ What tools and technologies will shape the way we work?
▪ What mindsets will help us thrive?
▪ How can we collaborate more effectively?
▪ What are our individual and collective superpowers?

The day was designed to spark meaningful conversations, strengthen connections across the studio, and generate actionable ideas that can be put into practice today to prepare for tomorrow.

Most importantly, it gave everyone a voice, encouraged collaboration, and proved that building the future can be both purposeful and fun.

Thank you to the Perkins & Will team for bringing such energy, creativity and forward-thinking ideas to the showroom.

Today we hosted Lunch & Learn sessions at Glasgow and Manchester, exploring the key trends set to shape commercial interiors in 2027 and 2028, and what they could mean for flooring specification.

The sessions covered emerging influences, industry insights and practical considerations for designers and specifiers, generating some great conversations along the way.

If you couldn’t join us, we’d love to see you at a future session, or visit our pods in Glasgow and Manchester to get hands-on with samples, explore our flooring solutions and chat with our team about your next project. We’re always happy to provide expert advice, technical support and tailored recommendations.
