One thing I see time and time again in practices is this: principals are carrying an extraordinary amount. Clinical work. Team leadership. Compliance. Patient expectations. The constant pressure to keep everything moving. It is a lot for anyone to hold.
And yet, here is something that becomes clearer the more practices I work with. Patients feel the impact of how your practice runs long before they sit in the chair.
It is not the treatments that set you apart. It is the experience. The warm welcome at reception. The clarity of communication online and offline. The calm, organised environment your team creates. These moments tell patients who you are as a practice.
And none of that happens by chance.
It comes from strong systems, clear values and a team that understands what “good” looks like and feels proud to deliver it. These are not extras. They are the foundations of sustainable, confident growth.
So, here is a mindset shift for you this week: What do our patients experience, and what does that say about who we are as a practice?
