✨ THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST ✨

2 POWERFUL WORDS.
VAUNTED GRACE. WILLING ACCEDE.

Some things are vaunted by the world.

Power. Wealth. Success. Prestige. Recognition.

These are often celebrated as life's greatest achievements. Yet none of them can accomplish what the precious blood of Jesus Christ has already accomplished.

The greatest victory in history was not won in a palace, on a battlefield, or through human achievement. It was won at Calvary, where the spotless Lamb of God shed His blood so that sinners might receive forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and the gift of eternal life.

📖 Vaunted

Vaunted means highly praised, admired, or boasted about.

The world often celebrates achievements, influence, wealth, and status. Yet every earthly accomplishment is temporary.

Only the finished work of Christ endures forever.

The blood of Jesus accomplishes what no amount of success, religion, or human effort can ever achieve. It cleanses the guilty conscience, restores fellowship with God, and grants the hope of eternal life.

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."
— Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)

📖 Accede

Accede means to agree willingly, to consent, or to yield to authority.

God never forces anyone to follow Him. Instead, He lovingly invites every heart to accede to His call—to repent, believe the gospel, and trust in His Son.

When we willingly surrender to Christ, we discover that His authority brings freedom rather than bo***ge, peace instead of fear, and hope that reaches beyond this life.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
— 1 John 1:9 (NKJV)

No matter how deep our failures or how heavy our guilt, the cleansing power of Christ's blood is greater still.

May we never place our confidence in the world's vaunted promises. Instead, may we willingly accede to God's gracious invitation, walk daily in His light, and live in the joy of His redeeming grace.

The blood shed at Calvary still speaks.

❤️ It speaks of mercy.
❤️ It speaks of forgiveness.
❤️ It speaks of redemption.
❤️ It speaks of hope.

And it still has the power to transform lives today.

✨ A LASTING LEGACY VI ✨

As I conclude this sixth reflection on A Lasting Legacy, I am reminded that the greatest inheritance we can leave is not found in wealth, possessions, or personal achievements, but in the lives we have influenced for the glory of God. A legacy that endures is built through hearts transformed by His Word, hands devoted to serving others, and lives marked by faithfulness to Christ.

The life and continuing influence of Mrs Victoria Olufunke Oguntuase beautifully remind us that God delights in using ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary purposes. By His mercy, favour, and grace, her faithful service continues to inspire, encourage, and bless countless lives. Her legacy bears witness to the truth that when our lives are wholly yielded to Christ, the seeds of faith, love, compassion, and service continue to bear fruit long after we are gone.

May we each choose to abrogate everything that hinders our fellowship with God and allow Him to quell every fear, anxiety, distraction, and doubt that seek to weaken our witness. As we walk in humble obedience, His grace will abound in our lives, enabling us to serve others faithfully and leave an enduring legacy that reflects His love.

"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."

By God's mercy, favour, and grace, our good works become an enduring testimony to His faithfulness, bringing glory to Him and blessing generations yet to come.

✨ A LASTING LEGACY V ✨

2 POWERFUL WORDS.
MELLIFLUOUS ENCOURAGEMENT. STEADFAST CITADEL.

Some legacies are remembered through monuments.

Others are remembered through lives transformed.

As I reflect on the impact of OLiP's Health Literacy Day, part of which is the Victoria Olufunke Oguntuase (VOO) Well-Being Day, I am reminded that a lasting legacy is built when knowledge is shared, lives are strengthened, and communities are empowered to flourish.

Each Thursday, residents of Onala gather to learn, discuss, and gain practical knowledge that supports healthier living. What may appear to be a simple community programme has become a source of encouragement, hope, and empowerment for many, particularly older adults.

The final Thursday of every month carries even greater significance, as VOO Well-Being Day continues to reflect the values and vision of a woman whose influence remains deeply woven into the life of the community. Although Mrs Victoria Olufunke Oguntuase is no longer physically present, her words, kindness, and example continue to inspire and uplift others.

📖 Mellifluous

Mellifluous means sweet, pleasant, and flowing in sound or expression.

Words possess remarkable power. A kind word can lift a burden. A gentle word can restore hope. An encouraging word can change the direction of a life.

“Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” — Proverbs 16:24 (NKJV)

Throughout her life, Mrs Victoria Olufunke Oguntuase demonstrated the value of words that strengthened, encouraged, and inspired others. Long after voices have fallen silent, gracious words continue to influence lives.

📖 Citadel

A citadel is a fortress, stronghold, or place of protection and security.

In a world filled with uncertainty, people need more than information; they need stability, wisdom, and hope.

A godly life becomes a citadel when it provides refuge for the weary, guidance for the uncertain, and strength for those facing life's challenges.

Mellifluous words encourage people.

A steadfast citadel protects and strengthens them.

HONEST SORROW. JOYFUL HOPE.

A sunset carries a different message from a sunrise.

While a sunrise speaks of beginnings, a sunset invites reflection. It reminds us that every day, every season, and every opportunity entrusted to us by God will eventually come to an end.

Yet a beautiful sunset leaves behind a lingering glow long after the sun has disappeared beyond the horizon.

In much the same way, a life surrendered to God continues to influence others long after individual moments have passed.

The railway tracks stretching towards the horizon remind us that life is a journey. Along the way, we experience seasons of joy and seasons of sorrow, moments of celebration and moments of disappointment. Through it all, God is shaping a legacy that reflects His grace, wisdom, and faithfulness.

As we continue exploring what it means to leave a lasting legacy, two powerful words offer valuable insight.

📖 Lachrymose

Lachrymose means tearful, sorrowful, or deeply moved to tears.

Many people view tears as a sign of weakness, yet Scripture often reveals them as expressions of sincerity, compassion, repentance, and dependence upon God.

A lachrymose season may arise through loss, disappointment, unanswered prayers, broken relationships, or unexpected challenges. These moments can feel overwhelming, but God never wastes our pain.

The tears we surrender to Him often become the very experiences that deepen our character and strengthen our faith.

Those who have walked through valleys with God frequently become the people most capable of comforting others. Their compassion is genuine because it has been refined through personal experience.

"The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit." — Psalm 34:18 (NKJV)

A lasting legacy is not built by pretending life is always easy. It is built by trusting God when life is difficult.

The believer's joy is not found in the absence of challenges but in the presence of God.

They speak faith when circumstances appear uncertain.

The light that breaks through the darkness does not seek attention. It simply shines, bringing warmth, direction, and hope to everything it touches.

In the same way, a life surrendered to God leaves a legacy that continues to influence others long after the moment has passed.

As we seek to build a legacy that honours God and blesses others, two powerful words offer valuable insight.

📖 Dominion

Dominion means authority, stewardship, rule, or the right to govern and exercise influence.

Many people associate dominion with power over others, but biblical dominion begins with responsibility before authority.

It is the ability to govern our thoughts, attitudes, actions, and decisions according to God's wisdom.

A steadfast mind exercises dominion over fear, resentment, pride, and discouragement. It chooses faith over fear, wisdom over impulse, and purpose over distraction.

From the beginning, God entrusted humanity with stewardship and responsibility.

Like the sunrise that paints the sky differently each morning while faithfully announcing a new day, God often works through changing seasons to accomplish His unchanging purposes.

Many people spend their lives seeking validation from others. They measure their worth by applause, recognition, approval, and acceptance. Yet human approval is temporary and often inconsistent.

📖 VALIDATE

To validate means to confirm, affirm, or recognise something as valuable, worthwhile, or true.

A renewed mind understands that its value does not come from public opinion but from God's purpose.

We may make plans, set goals, and envision our future, but true validation comes from walking in the direction God has prepared for us. When He directs our steps, we no longer need constant approval from the crowd.

📖 CODDLE

To coddle means to treat someone with excessive protection, indulgence, or softness, preventing them from developing resilience and maturity.

While encouragement is essential, growth requires more than comfort.

A gardener does not strengthen a plant by shielding it from every breeze. A teacher does not help a learner by removing every challenge. Likewise, God loves us too much to coddle us into weakness.

Instead, He develops character through responsibility, perseverance, and wisdom.

In Part 1, we explored how renewing the mind begins with intentional thinking and unwavering trust in God's truth. In Part 2, we examined the importance of finding our validation in God's truth rather than human approval and refusing to become trapped by regret or past disappointments.

Now, in Part 3, we continue building a steadfast mind by exploring two qualities that strengthen our faith, sharpen our perspective, and help us remain anchored in God's purpose through every season.

📖 VALIDATE

Validate means to confirm, support, or demonstrate that something is true, worthwhile, or genuine.

Many people spend their lives searching for validation from others. They seek approval, recognition, and acceptance from those around them.

While encouragement from others is valuable, a steadfast mind understands that its worth is not determined by public opinion.

Our identity is not established by applause, popularity, achievement, or comparison.

It is established by who God says we are.

His love affirms our value.

His grace reminds us that we are never forgotten.

His Word provides direction when uncertainty arises.

When criticism comes, we do not lose heart.

When recognition is absent, we do not lose confidence.

When others fail to understand our journey, we continue walking faithfully.

Scripture reminds us that our true worth is not based on status, achievement, or the opinions of others, but on the value God places on every human life:

"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

📖 MAUDLIN

Maudlin means excessively sentimental or emotionally overwhelmed, often dwelling on sorrow, regret, or past disappointments.

There is a difference between reflecting on the past and becoming trapped by it.

Many people allow yesterday's failures, hurts, and missed opportunities to dominate today's thinking. They continually revisit what cannot be changed and become discouraged by what might have been.

A steadfast mind refuses to remain captive to regret.

It learns from the past without living in it.

It remembers lessons without becoming burdened by them.

It acknowledges pain without allowing pain to define its future.

The renewed mind understands that growth requires forward movement. While reflection can be valuable, dwelling endlessly on yesterday can prevent us from embracing today's opportunities.

What appears to be a delay may become protection.

Faith allows us to trust God's perspective when our own vision is limited.

📖 Aver

Aver means to state or affirm something confidently and firmly as true.

Throughout Scripture, God's people were called to stand firmly upon His promises, regardless of what their circumstances suggested.

A steadfast mind does not merely hope God's Word is true; it confidently affirms it.

It avers that God is faithful.

It avers that His promises are dependable.

It avers that His strength is sufficient.

It avers that His purpose will prevail.

One of the clearest examples of this confidence is found in Psalm 23. After reflecting on God's provision and protection, David boldly declares:

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever."
— Psalm 23:5–6 (NKJV)

Notice that David does not speak with uncertainty.

He does not say, "Perhaps goodness and mercy will follow me."

He does not say, "I hope the Lord will remain with me."

Instead, he confidently avers what he knows to be true:

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me."

That is the language of faith.

Even in the presence of enemies, David recognised God's provision.

Even in uncertainty, he recognised God's favour.

Even before the journey was complete, he recognised God's faithfulness.

The renewed mind learns to do the same.

✨ Find beauty in every season.
✨ Walk confidently in His purpose.
✨ Remain steadfast when challenges arise.

Many people measure their lives by speed. They compare timelines, achievements, and milestones, often feeling discouraged when their journey looks different from someone else's.

Yet God's purpose for our lives is not determined by how quickly we move, but by whether we are moving in the right direction.

📖 Apian

Apian means relating to bees.

Few creatures demonstrate diligence and purposeful work more clearly than the bee.

A bee does not waste energy comparing itself to other bees. It simply fulfils the role it was created to perform. Day after day, it works faithfully, contributing to something far greater than itself.

There is a powerful lesson in this.

Extraordinary results are often the product of ordinary actions repeated consistently.

The renewed mind values faithfulness over applause, progress over perfection, and purpose over popularity.
