At 7:30pm tonight, BBC One will be showing our special tribute programme to the one and only Dame Vera Lynn, who sadly passed away today at the age of 103. Despite no longer being with us, her memory and her legacy will live on through music for generations to come. We are so very proud to have been able to celebrate her life in this programme, and we hope you enjoy it with us.

A truly sad day for our team today. It was an absolute pleasure to tell the story of Dame Vera Lynn, the Forces’ Sweetheart, and her remarkable contribution to music. She will be missed, and our thoughts are with her daughter Virginia and her wider family at this time.
